Ironic we’ve been at the very bottom of the league since the burns trade . Brown is still on the team btw .

Irony yes you could say that as long as there is no intent to claim that because he left we all of a sudden got so bad we are losing all the time. Which it seems like you might be trying to imply.
Did we lose something? Yes we did. Was it worth 5 years at 28 mil per? Not to my thinking.

First: What do you think the word ‘scapegoating’ means?

Because what I said was not scapegoating.

They are two different players playing two different roles.
I simply said two things about Burns, if I recall.
One, basically he is a one dimensional player that is doing well because they have a very strong front in NY.
Two, I was against paying his price because he is a liability against the run. One dimensional and therefore not worth it.
Summing it up: he e is a pass rush specialist, about all I have ever felt about him, and his financial demands made him much less of a value.  IMO.

What is brown one dimension then ? Run stopping ? We are terrible with him playing the run and without him . So what exactly does he bring to the table that makes him worth 100 million no one has answered the question ?

This be like the Lotulelei vs Short debate.

Lotulelei didn't show up in the stat sheet much but he made that defense work and without him it went poorly

Top of that, we play a 3-4.

Brown plays DL and his job is to take up space and blockers, fill his lane and allow the edge behind him the space to make plays.

Okay you don’t like Brown and you think Burns is great I guess. This has reached the end for me. I said what I think you said what you think. We will not agree on this making it pointless to continue. Peace.

That’s my point what he does isn’t worth a 100 million dollars . For a 100 million i need sacks and tfls he does neither .

Does it really matter with the current state of the team?

I mean you have to pay someone. There is a salary cap floor.

Players don’t want to come here or stay here. his contract is not hurting the panthers in any conceivable way, unless it’s stopping us from overpaying mid FAs. But that’s kind of the same problem you’re describing?

    • We just need another 50 or so players like that and we’ll have something.
    • Ive had this bad feeling it would eventually be the Watson
    • He's right. Tepper ain't the one out there dropping balls, or missing blocks, or putting up having comically bad drafts. He's the one responsible for hiring the people that have kept our scouting department that has been one of the worst at evaluating college talent in the NFL.  He forced the transition to the 3-4 even though we've never fully committed to it and never been able to draft or sign the players to do it.  He's the one that signed used car salesman Fat Fhule that hadn't even won a game against a ranked opponent.  Then he signed a GM that was one of if not the worst GM in the history of the NFL, only to replace him with his assistant.  Frank Reich hired and fired in 9 games. Multiple potential hires for HC turning down interviews.  Changing QBs like underwear. Personal quest to trade for a sexual predator QB and would have if the contract didnt have to be 100% guaranteed.  Terrible contracts Rock Hill debacle  2023 trade up to 1 and him and his wife drafting BY  Worst defense in NFL history. Worst record in major league sports over the time frame of his ownership and the fans need to be patient and understanding of an 8 year and counting rebuild? There being any fans left is a goddamn miracle.
