Many old guys know poo, that they didn’t know like, 30 years ago. Even if they knew a lot then. Insight into scenarios and such.

But he's been with Evero for 3 or 4 years now. How long does it take to pass that knowledge along? I'm seeing a guy hanging around that has too much influence in a bad way.

That isn’t the context I meant. Evero will already know all the concepts and XO stuff. He doesn’t need Dom for that. And I am not even saying he needs him.
Just that Dom has seen it all. He probably has perspective on things that Evero is running into for time to time. that could be useful to Evero.
like what to do if he gets in a power struggle with the HC lol.

Well whatever his role is it's not helping and both have run their course here. Its time Evero moved on and Dom and his hairpiece into retirement.

Okay. I’m not really invested in either.I love Dom just from the old days.
Personally I don’t think I would  single out Evero for firing unless I was keeping Canales. Not keeping Canales you just fire them all at once. And probably not in season.
If I was keeping Canales I’d give him his own DC - as I would for any coach.

That is the normal way of doing things but we are not normal. Dom hanging around with no input is one thing. Dom having a lot of influence is another.  It's the same with Caldwell, he's outlived his usefulness and his influence is not helping.

I don’t even know WTF Caldwell does.
I know Dom came with Evero.

Dom and Evero appears to be a package deal. I find that an odd arrangement. Who is actually the puppet master and who is the puppet?

I don’t know. I think this is a thing where Tepper thinks more is more and opened the wallet because he could. I don’t think Dom does much probably a sounding board. But that is pure speculation I have no way to know.

I do have a negative view on Moire because of that backstabbing with Reich. The picking of Bryce Young, he was here for it and an offensive guy and had a voice in it.

Well whatever the reason he's here he and Evero longer have any value to this team. They have proven that their defense isn't effective in the moden nfl anymore.

To this day, I’m not sure I really understand what role Caldwell had in firing Reich.  I thought, perhaps wrongly, that Caldwell was a advocate for hiring Frank but after the firing, I’m not so sure.

Firing Evero isn’t going to accomplish much overall

Dan and Dave make him the scapegoat to buy themselves more time. I don’t agree with how Evero runs the D but there is next to no talent on that side of the ball

Dan and Dave are the real problem

People like to throw around the phrase that ‘it couldn’t get any worse’ when in actuality it can and saying that is nothing more than hyperbole.

Gentlemen, I submit that at this very moment, the Panthers defense accurately wears the ‘it could not be any worse’ label.

I’m not a change for the sake of changing person, but Evero is not the guy. Even the worst of rosters will eventually show an inkling of progress. I refuse to believe this is the worst roster in NFL history from a talent perspective, but last season it was the worse performing, ever…. And the DC keeps his job?!?! Just think about that. Worst in the history of the NFL and he keeps his job? By that standard, what does DC’s leash look like?

You serious Clark? In sane circumstances, every defensive coach gets walking papers after having fielded the worst NFL D of all time.. but not here. Makes you wonder who is really piloting this laughing stock…. And that is the guy had the gall to send Steve packing… but I digress.

Evero, regardless of the circumstances he was given, just can’t be allowed to continue here. Digressing is simply not possible when you’re the worst of all time. Literally anything has the potential for improvement. His chance of turning this around at any point is 0.0.

I think he did advocate for Frank, at least initially. Whatever happened during those first 6 games turned the coaches,  and probably some players, into the Game of Thrones.

I honestly think Fitterer had a lot to do with the upheaval. He was pissed that his 1st overall pick was looking like ass and blamed it on the coaches. The coaches then went into self preservation mode and all hell broke loose.

    • I knew it was a shitshow but I didn't know for certain it was this bad. When your headcoach has to force a subordinate to play a player by cutting another player the subordinate refused to bench that's a dysfunctional mess. There's no sugar coating it.
    • I was considering just sharing the notes because there's a lot of bad and I wanted to be considerate of folks like @Basbear that might be browsing on a device that doesn't play nice with a bunch of videos. Then if there was any further discussion on particular plays, I could capture and upload those. Dude it's so much... the team was so bad on Sunday. There's even a few bad Bryce plays in there for those with hate boners for him.
    • We draft a lot of those guys. Our front office has a type they like to draft. Big, fast, etc. and we don’t pay attention to skill because we always think we can coach athletes up to be football players. It hasn’t worked out once and normally our un athletic UDFAs out play the guys we draft.    The only exception we made was drafting Bryce Young. It was the only time we ignored physical attributes. You can’t make all of this up.
