Tbf before this game he had a whopping 50 yards off 20 targets and 8 catches.

He did have a great game but he needs more of this

The quality of the targets and catches matter.  Just look at that final catch to seal the game.  That throw is there every Sunday, but tell me the last time you saw Bryce do a 3 step drop and chuck it on a streak down the sideline?  He doesn’t and he won’t.  That’s one of XL’s strengths.  He’s big and fast enough to beat his man off the line more often than not, or just to get in the gap between the corner and safety in zone and stress the defense.  Bryce just isn’t looking for that throw because he’s uncomfortable attempting it.  That’s automatically cuts down quality attempts and touches for the offense.  To his credit, Andy trusted XL and attempted it, but even he under threw it and XL had to make a great adjustment and come back and get it.

If our QB could hit XL on those streaks and drags/crossers/slants with some fuging conviction and anticipation, rather than XL having to slow down and reach behind him or fall down to get it, I promise you, he would look like everything you’d hope he would be.

Best game of his career by far.  9 receptions , 92 yards, and a TD. Strong hands. Good poo young man.

A lot of people were clowning on him for a slow start this year and an underwhelming rookie year. But he finally had a great game. I think he has 2 games in a row with receiving TDs.

It was a good game, but I have to disagree about strong hands. I don't think his hands touched the ball all game. He catches by forming a basket with his biceps against his chest.

I was hoping he would be more Mushin, but he reminds me so much of Funchess. His speed hasn't translated to the NFL game yet. He can't catch with his hands yet, he also doesn't trust his hands so he jumps up to body catch which means he can't accumulate YAC. He is a little herky/jerky on the field. The problem is he's already 24, so he's behind the 8-ball. But yes, I applaud him focusing, blocking, and getting better these last few weeks. Because Week 1 he was horrendous.

That last throw?? It was an air ball Dalton floated up for a 30 yard pass that XL had to literally stop his wide open route and jump and catch while the CB caught up with him. Dalton isn’t the QB people think he is at this point in his career. Remember last year when he had to play several games for us? It wasn’t good…

My point is Andy isn’t going to unlock XL. XL was already having a good game before Andy came out, under threw his WRs, and took a sack taking us out of field goal range. He isn’t going to help this offense any more than Young has. We saw it last year. This also isn’t a pro Bryce respond as much as it is an Andy is no better. I was more venting at his performance. @Proudiddydidn’t say anything I’m arguing against as much as I’m adding to his frustrations.

As one of his biggest critics on this forum -

What a freakin' game by him.

Been telling you "haters" just give him some more time. All he has to do is be a good #2, Tmac is already showing he's a capable #1.

He had 500 yards, 4 TDs, and like 50 recs last year with all that BS from the QB spot until "good" BY showed up the last 9. Yes I wanted Ladd too, bump those draft threads and see. Ladd is more of slot and XL is more of X/outside. That's more value if XL plays well.

I've heard from those all-22 nerds, he's wide out this year and last. BY just needs him to throw him the ball with trust....

He's one of the players thats just taking more games, its still ok and he's not a bust. Polk was draft nearly right after and was traded for a French fry recently, that's a bust.
