QBs that would cost next to nothing and are better than anything we currently have.

I truly believe we don’t need to look for another QB in the draft.  We keep trying and failing.  We had two elite QBs in Mayfield and Dalton.  Trying to get a good QB in draft is 1/10 chances.  Through FA 5/10 IMO.  Rather than waiting on draft or continuing to Hope and pray BY gets better.  Let’s go get our next QB now while they are cheap.

I have thoughts but would also like your evaluation and thoughts.  I’m sure there are diamonds in the rough and all can be had for nothing higher than a 4th round pick and 4 mil / year.  This would free us up for big lineman on both sides and great skill positions.

1. Jameis Winston - big arm, mobile, gun slinger, great attitude

2. Malik Willis - big arm, looked great in his appearances last year for GB

3. Mac Jones (once Purdy comes back) - has been a good replacement and has SF at 5-2

Maybes - Sanders, Wilson, Garappolo, Mariota

thoughts?

Tyson Bagent

No to Jamies. Hell no to Malik. And fug No to Mac Jones

Overpay for Daniel Jones - assuming he doesn’t take whatever offer Colts make during season so he can leverage free agency.

Gardner Minshew as the backup. Let Bryce and Andy walk off into the sunset together.

He'd be mad to leave the Colts.

Much like I thought the Vikings were mad to let Darnold leave.

When you hit on a QB you fuging lock the doors of the facility.

I don't think Jones gets out of Indy, unless the wheels fall off and the team collapses, which has happened before to them.

Also, regarding Jones, Indy felt adamant they had a roster that was good enough to win now, and the results so far speak for themselves. While I do think the Panthers are not catshit terrible, and that Young is holding them back, I would not declare the roster ready-to-win right now. There is a chance that Jones doesn't deliver the same results somewhere else.

I like the effort, but these are probably not the way to go. Not in the long term for certain.

Mac Jones is about to be the next Darnold /Mayfield / Jones. Hell, he might even replace the starter on his own team.

Shanahan has made Jimmy G look good, Brock purdy look good, mac jones look good.  I am sensing a common denominator here.

The only whiff was Trey Lance and he did break his ankle and he is the only outlier of what KS wants

    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
    • Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
