That is why I could never warm to the place. I only hear about the way it is otherwise because I just can’t hang with the format. It seems really convoluted. 

It's useful as others said for solutions, upvotes are arguably ideal for a solution/answer forum. For opinions, not so much. 

I also just hold a grudge against reddit for killing off forums

A lot of AWS platforms are having issues this week, I don't think there's much to be done until Amazon figured their shyt out (assuming this site is using AWS)

That is valid. I don’t use it but I will do a search and often end up there on an answer to the question. But I can’t navigate that place  or don’t want the bother of it I should say.
