QB 2026 (For the Young Haters)

Hey, Stafford got traded when he was still clearly a quality QB with lots of tread left on the tires.  So this universe if the compensation is good enough.

That was a weird situation where you had an organization that was stuck in the mud despite having a franchise QB. They decided to trade a 32 year old franchise QB because they didn't think they were going to be in a position to win with him before he was over the hill and that he was more valuable to them in draft assets to build for the future. It was also one of these weird trade situations where both teams won. Both teams got exactly what they were looking for out of the deal. The Rams got their SB and the Lions got their assets to build from and turned their franchise around.

I don't see similar scenarios with Herbert or Lamar. One, the age thing.Lamar is still only 28 and Herbert is 27. Two, neither team feels stuck in the mud. The Chargers are 6-3 right now and the Ravens had won 10+ games in 6 of the last 7 seasons coming into this year. Either team would be crazy to blow it up by dealing away their QB.

Probably none. But you cannot do nothing until you think you have a shot at a "franchise" qb. You take a shot on anyone you think is better than what you have. Rinse and repeat.

That's the point of this post.  What's the plan?  Probably a mid round pick on a QB that was in a crappy program but has the tools but that player is, at minimum, one full season as the backup.

Bro, who TF wants to draft a QB at this point?

We took what is ending up to be the best QB in that specific draft since Stroud is trash.

You go get a veteran at this point.

Trade for Burrow put him behind this line.

Stroud is trash?

The point is you try. Thinking there isn't a good qb in the draft doesn't mean there isn't one. We need a backup as well so maybe we only end up improving the backup. There's the 27 draft coming up and we have a chance there. You just keep trying no matter what.

Depends on how scrambled his brain is. Before that he was solid.

Oh that’s right he got jacked up. I saw something about that. The Stan’s think we follow every Stroud game lol… no.

I never watched Dart since we weren’t in the market but I saw people here saying he wasn’t going to be any good. I haven’t watched him this year either but he is starting and the NYG fans say they like him.
We should always be looking.

I know Rattler hasn’t lit it up but the Saints may be drafting a QB next year and he may be expendable. He’d make a good backup I think.  Or find a better Rattler in the draft if you don’t like him.

I would prefer to look in the draft. Im never a fan of counting on someone else's rejects.

This. Jaxson Dart wasn't seen as a super high level prospect but damn if I don't wish we had him right now.

As happy as I am with T-Mac honestly if I could re-do the draft today knowing what I know now I take Dart. We'll see how it plays out long-term. Both could wind up great or one or both could end up being a flash in the pan.

Dart is going to get himself killed because he’s literally the stupidest person in any room. His camp say he left usc because Caleb was there but there’s a ton of rumors that he straight up could not understand the offense. Hes just “throw ball hard run sometimes.”

like skateboo might read picture books but he has to explain them Jaxson.

    • JMO, I think it is lame as hell to publicly give up on the team and then crawl back when they win a few games. Like, how can you run a PANTHERS PODCAST and then give up on it during the season?    Yes, you can argue the Panthers prior to Week 3 hadn't done anything to deserve fanfare, but nobody made them run a Panthers Podcast.  They chose to.  So stick with it.  Instead they gave up and did so publicly.  Which is well within their right - but you can't then turn around and bring it back the same season.
    • The crazy thing about football is it’s a team sport. But one position can make or break the game. And one of the best ways in doing that is by not giving the ball away and being able to run at 4-5 yard clips. Throw in a couple passes and next thing you know you’re in the red zone. Playing this way limits possessions to other(more dynamic) QBs too. And if your defense plays well that could equate to between 4 and six series. If you’re running that efficient, you can say, split the offensive production with the run or the pass. So by attempt byce accounted for his half of the yardage and Rico did too. Rico also managed to punch it in at the goal line. And you gotta give it to our oline and they’re running blocking and that’s without TMO! so the truth is, Canales and management figured out how to use Bryce’s strengths to compliment this run game to cover up his weaknesses in a way that is efficient. And our defense showed improvement against pretty formidable opponent the week after andy dalton gave it to buffalo. They are putting winning football on the field more often, and we are slowly becoming better each week. I hope they can keep it up.
    • If only the Eagles collapse. I dont think it will happen though. I hate them as much. Ill root for the Chiefs if they play the Eagles this time around in the Superbowl. I hate those guys.
