I knew that they drafted him as "Drew Brees V.2" but Drew is 6' and he is only 5'10". Does that 2 inches matter? It might. Or is it coaching that does that? Two inches doesn't seem like much, but it might be just enough (i.e. 6' is too short, but good coaching adjusts to fix it, but coaching can't fix 5' 10").

To help you visualize, here's a photo of Bryce standing next to Drew Brees. I've drawn a line to show that Bryce's eyes are level with Drew's mouth. That is a big difference and the difference between being able to see the field OVER your O-line's shoulders and not being able to see the field because their shoulders are blocking your vision.

Quinn Ewers had a -0.7 CPOE today

Bryce had a +4.9 CPOE last week against TB

Really no different than PFF and their “big time throws” when it comes to Bryce

the entire league has sat on our pass game since Bryce arrived.  He throws the same BS routes on repeat.   Which means the coverage and balls are tight on many non spectacular throws.

Bryce can’t back a D off.  He can’t stress them.   That impacts coverage.  Then the defenders deep dive into these very cherry picked stats…..and ignore the billion other metrics that say says he is bad.  Because it’s not close when you look at the billion ways a QB can be broken down

What does this mean?

Completion percentage over expected

an advanced stat that measures a quarterback's accuracy by comparing their actual completion rate to what a model predicts, considering factors like throw distance (air yards), location, defender separation, and pressure, helping to show if a QB completes difficult throws more (or fewer) than expected. It's a way to evaluate quarterbacks beyond raw completion percentage, as CPOE adjusts for the inherent difficulty of each pass.

Young’s analytics took a hit after yesterdays dud. It’ll forever be tough to judge QB play based off of stats but some are definitely better than others and EPA + CPOE is probably the best one. But like I said yesterday, the Seahawks were an awful matchup for us and it’s not just Bryce.

I said yesterday it wasn’t a good matchup for us and that’s why. We really need to go out and find a specific type of WR this offseason and a TE would be nice as well.

If we play the Niners or Seahawks again if we make the playoffs the outcome is going to be the same. We simply do not have the personnel to beat those teams

Just say you don’t understand advanced stats.

The only stats the Bryce defenders want to talk about share one common denominator…..they are heavily influenced by throws into tight coverage.  And Bryce’s throws into coverage have discussed and why he makes those on repeat.

there are billion ways to look at QB play.  They virtually all tell a similar story about what Bryce is and it aligns with the visual….he isn’t a good QB.

Cherry picking CPOE random ass week means nothing when we got 3 years of all sorts of metrics to judge him.

you got it wrong on Bryce.  Just move on.  The defense is beyond sad.   And now you lean on whatever it is you think you are doing the post above lol
