Any of the Dave Canales stans.....this is as big of a red flag as you could have. It took multiple seasons of Mike McDaniels to start seeing this type of poo pop up. Now we are getting it 1.5 seasons into his tenure here.

It's all over, boys. This guy is already losing the team and somehow managing to do it while winning.

Yeah, this "Leadership Council" thing is highly suspect. It feels like a head coach, once again, wanting to be buddies with everyone and not step on any toes.

I don't have an issue with a players coach like Ron was a players coach. He had their backs but he also was a strong cultural influence, as well. Also didn't have an issue with getting heated, calling people out, etc.

Now his version of accountability was sometimes dubious but....

It appears to me that they should elect new people for this leadership council. The current members are not measuring up as competent leaders.

IDC what flavor of coaching background, just don't hire an obvious scam artists(Rhule) or people in way over their heads(Rhule/Canales) or head coaches that you give a list of people they have to hire(Reich).

We have made just about every possible mistake hiring a head coach.

Whatever your instincts are, Dave, immediately do the exact opposite.

I mean....show me the list of guys that have been in strong locker rooms in the first place?

Moton? Wharton? JJ? Mitchell? Corbett? Lewis? Nijman? Robinson? Dalton? Dowdle? Brown III? Rozeboom? Wonnum? Jones? King of Pop? Scott? Martin? Moore? Hunt?

Pretty sure that is the entire list of players on our roster who have experienced more than 1 winning season in their NFL careers. Not a joke.

Notice how many are backups or special teams.

I was suggesting that more of the younger players should be on the council. They are demonstrating more leadership than most of the veterans.

I don't know who is or isn't but what I do know is this roster is very short on players that even know what NFL success looks like. That's a problem immediately.

Rozeboom is on the council, a guy on a one year league minimum deal who played special teams for the Rams last season.

Leadership Council honestly sounds like Evangelical Church popularity contest poo and sure enough..

Quote

NFL linebacker Christian Rozeboom has described himself as being grounded in his faith, which he credits to his family and the way he was raised. He views faith as providing perspective that there are things in life "bigger than football".

Rozeboom has also spoken about the significant role the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) has played in his personal life, noting that he was involved with the organization since high school and met his wife through it.

Yeah, that fits with our current HC and his nonsense. IDGAF about the religiosity BS if it isn't rooted in some sort of scammy nonsense(see Rhule, Matt). Canales does smell like that kind of guy.

When he was a passing game coordinator in Seattle he was getting paid 10k speaker fees at evangelical marriage recharge conferences.

at the time he was cheating on his wife every weekend and spending his per diems on strippers while she couldn’t afford groceries.

this is in their book.

to say nothing about what he and Brad Idzik were doing

Also on Canales in general, don't feel like he's the type of coach who's going to mother fug somebody in private. And in the NFL...college...high school...that's a problem. The clip went viral of Rivera tearing the team a new one in the locker room a few weeks ago, but you have to have that in you.

Morgan can't preach bringing in "dawgs" if our HC is a choir boy on the sideline clapping and saying yes sir Mr. Ref. Not saying he needs to be Dan Campbell...but he can't be milquetoast Disney sports movie guy 100% of the time

Rivera was a dude that played in the NFL and would have the respect of players. He knows the type of effort that is expected on the field and would chew out the team when needed (we also had Cam/Luke there to also do so).

Canales is just a dude that wants to be everybody's friend and tell them they are God's gift and do nothing wrong. This is one of the top reasons why the guy is an awful coach - he doesn't hold any of the players responsible for playing like ass
