Nothing Defines the Bryce Young Era Better Than that 4th Down Play

Also a microcosm of this game itself

Bryce plays his best game of his career, but at the same time also had a good 6-8 plays (if not more) today where he just made terrible decisions and/or throws that in the end, likely cost us the win.

So even when he plays well, his issues still cause problems

Yeah, I was just thinking afterwards, he had some really good plays today.  But it’s the bad ones…  a true franchise QB would’ve had 4 TDs before that last one to Tet.  The plays have been there…  like you said, the number of times he just balls up and eats a sack or is completely oblivious on 4th down plays, or free plays from penalties is unreal.  The number of 4th down plays he’s just threw the ball away or ate a sack, I’ve never seen so many mistakes by a single player in my life.  So even in the games where he makes a few great plays, the bad ones still end up outweighing it.  If he converts that 4th down instead of falling and laying there, this is a very different looking game.  We could’ve milked the clock and been methodical.  Instead we’re forced to do the spectacular.

Yes, the mistakes are bad, but for me, they're still the secondary problem, the big one is the numerous incomplete passes because he's unable to drive the ball when he isn't able to have perfect balance and step into the throw.

Because even if you fix his mental mistakes, he still will never have a strong enough arm for this league.  You can't win with a QB who can't drive a throw from the hash mark to the opposite sideline and only 15 yards downfield.

2.5+ years of limpdick quarterbacking.  Let’s revisit your post hoc gloating next time he has another Saints performance.  Where were you last week?

lol where’ve I been? This place sucks. Haven’t frequented here in years. Just wanted to see what the haters are up to and of course I see your limpdick post. No need to revisit. I got better poo to do than be full of hate like this wasteland of a community. ✌️

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
