One of the most pointless, stupid stats ever.

I wonder if they expanded the qualifiers at some point. Like in the participation trophy generation.
Ir just wonder about the history of it. Because we had game winning drives before there was a GWD stat. I feel like it used to mean something different.
Like a deep ball nowadays vs 30 years ago.

Bryce is 11-15 in games of two scores or less.

He's 1-13 in games with score differentials beyond 15.

He may be clutch but he's also lost plenty of one and two scores games.

Baker was 1-5 as a Panther. How many GWDs did he get for us?

I think it started after the SB but there was a forum on the official panthers site too. There might be someone that knows the lore better. I started surfing around 04-05

Been on Panthers MBs since the late 90's.  Yes, Official team sites had one or a while, then the NFL shut them down for some reason; it wasn't just the Panthers.  People used to troll other team sites, maybe that's why.  The first one was the Observer website, in the sports section for the Panthers.  Several floated around in the early '00s. I was on several of them. Most faded within a few years after the '03 SB.  Some are still around, with very little traffic.  As much as this MB can be a pissing match, it still has the most traffic that I know of.

All 12 guy pictured had a SB or a SB appearance.  Dude ain't even close to that level and it's absurd to even trying to equate it; tongue in cheek aside.

The point is that it’s clearly a good category to be in despite how anyone wants to spin it. I’m mostly having fun but I do get a get out of the Bryce police running out at anything positive.

Not sure the relevance to Bryce Young.

You were rattling off his wins and losses as a Panther. Baker is 1-5. Struggling franchises make it hard to win. Having 10 GWDs already is a good thing. It’s worth mentioning and talking about. Does it mean Bryce is our future QB? No. But he does seem to have a clutch factor to him.

I get it. It's a novel stat.  However novelty is not the thing I want my starting QB to hang his hat on.

As in our stating QB is 11-36, but fun fact-- he had 10 GWDs!!!  Neat stat, huh?

And Baker was 1-5 as a starter in this team just one year prior. We clearly weren’t ready for a rookie QB and it gives you some perspective on what to reasonably expect for wins and losses.

The GWD stat, as I see it, was being spun to pimp Bryce.
He does have some ability in the clutch.
But that is a poo stat.

I don’t like stats  much anyway. They can illustrate a point you try to make about a player or team or game, yes.
I will put it this way though: do you need stats to tel you how Bryce played on Sunday? Or the Sunday before?
In the words of the great Johnny Guitar Watson, I don’t think so.
