The fact he needs a 100% clean pocket to see is the issue there. It's the NFL not school so clean pockets are a hope and not a guarantee. He can't see if he steps up so it's a non option really

That sack is on Bryce.  Step up in the pocket and then he can hit Dowdle to the left or scramble to the right and extend the play.

@45catfan the bryce stan is trying to say the double team on the other side "failed" and he was surrounded lmfao yea he was becaus he didnt step up in the completly clean pocket..... this is pass blocking 101 if the qb is 9 yards behind the LOS when hes sacked with zero interior push its on the qb because if he steps up both DEs get washed out and he has a full four seconds to throw....

Lol, you got it twisted.  Yes Bryce had options, but he didn't see Rico, held the ball too long and because he didn't step up when he had a chance before the pocket collapsed all led to the sack.  The OP is blaming Ickey for the loss and what I'm saying is that the OL gave upsack (this play)all game and by the time Chase Young got there the other side of the line had collapsed too.

He was sacked for a NINE yard loss on a play were he was stationary when sacked.... with a completely clean interior pocket thats inexcusable....

On first down

and his defenders are just like “well the loss is clearly on Ickey”

People are talking about extending a guy who followed that up with a five yard check down

Your high.... the "double team" didnt fail on the other side if he steps up in the pocket when hes supposed too 2 seconds before you still the double team washes them out and so does ickey....  but no he dropped BACK three YARDS BEHIND BOTH TACKLES.

Probably didnt step up because his midget ass cant see over the line if he does.

The Rams starting NT was 5'11". Saints starting DTs are 6'4", 6'5".

Just sayin'...

Playing offensive tackle isn't about winning the snap its about losing as slowly as possible if they are going to get beat you WANT it to be 9 yards yards behind the LOS and to the outside.....

He didnt step up because hes 5'8 and needs to be 10 yards behind the line to see 🤣

Bryce got sacked once yesterday and I think the offensive line played pretty well overall.

If you’re trying to win every game 20-17 then eventually the other team is going to out execute.

and that was just on first down. Bryce could have tried to push the ball downfield (lol)

Our RBs averaged 3.3 ypc. Tackles weren’t good in pass PRO, Bryce covered most of that with scrambles and the little Bryce spin move. Below average performance yesterday from the OL.

The thing about those BY9 GWDs or basically pretty much literally any drive is that any penalty is an instant drive killer. As soon as we have a negative play it's over. Gaining 10 yards in three plays is hard enough already. Make it more and that's a wrap.

The simple truth explained perfectly.

Ickey was beat to the outside from the get go.... he saw that and should have climbed the pocket period....  super processor at work.

Im saying its arguable to even credit that sack too the offensive line for all we hate pff thats one coaches and most analysts will put squarely on bryce.

Tackles usually aren't when a QB is constantly dropping BEHIND them and not utilizing the interior pocket.
