Why does Bryce get the blame?

Brother re-check that guarantee...my page shows 30mill.....thats means he's staying in my book for at least til the end of 2026.

Im going to be my normal honest self, besides watching like half of the SB, I didn't know the guy. My guess is Panthers have a "planned model of paying players" and they almost had to spend a chunk of space on a DLman after Dbrown injury season gave them a nightmare out-come of worst D in NFL scoring. Once Milton got above Dbrown payments, they went with the plan B. A player whom the "co-GM" put his name with. Brad said turk would not be a problem off-field and leader, which the Panthers need badly. I dug in with the google-fu, I found out

I also found him playing lots of NT, which was shocking given the small frame. He seems ready for a bigger role and had a great SB too. IDK, I feel Dan Morgan was dead set on not going into this season without more DL depth and its there.

The real deal is this, nearly all FA take one year to "adjust". I think turk is trying too hard and causing injuries as a result for his contract. Dbrown called turk "strong as hell" and I know for a fact Dbrowns has insane core and strength numbers. They lift together with the 50 LB difference...... you always lift with a guy who's similar in strength cause you can leave on the 8 wheels, let the other guy lift while you rest and go after him.

I do wish he had a better beginning to his panther career, 3 games for him to do so and it would cover up the low points if he made a few plays....

Again it felt like they almost had to make move/spend $$$ and Morgan was going to have DL depth this season no matter what...My best guess.

After next year. So after 2026. Yeah he isn’t financially able to be moved this year.

It wasn’t completely his fault, but outside of two throws and one or two scrambles he didn’t do much to help. His accuracy was all over the place, numerous passes that were placed poorly and didn’t give the receiver a good chance to catch the ball or do anything with it after. He also continues to display terrible pocket awareness. Even the sacks could have been avoided, they weren’t immediate like the pressure we got on Shough at times. Bryce just often has no feel for pressure and stands there waiting to get sacked after numerous seconds have passed.

He gets the blame because his role as the QB is to make plays, help the team score more points and elevate players around him. He does none of that. Just because he didn’t massively mess up doesn’t mean he wasn’t a reason for the loss. The bar some of you have for Bryce is incredibly low.

Now what he DOES deserve a lot of blame for is his career 13-28 record. Turns out, he's very bad!

Does Newton own his win-loss record, though? 🤔

Tying quarterbacks to their team's record is a complicated debate. Most football analysts would say it isn't fair, but on the flipside it's a very commonly used metric.

Ultimately, I'm comfortable looking at whether we win or lose with a certain QB, but I acknowledge the folks who don't think it's a fair way to judge a career.

My guess is that they Jonathan Cooley

Todd Wash has more coaching experience, more DC (defensive coordinator) experience, more familiarity with DC (,Dave Canales) and probably the endorsement of DC (,Dom Capers) from previous stops.

That said, Cooley is considered a hot DC candidate and, for what it's worth, ties as both a player and coach to John Carroll University. JCU has been a factory for producing solid NFL coaches and leaders.

There's also the other "Carroll connection" to consider (Pete)

The Turk signing never made any sense. Turk was basically a five tech pass rush specialist in KC benefitting from playing beside one of the best all around DTs in the league. He didn't fit our scheme at all. It was baffling.

Tilis? 🤔

(I haven't looked back at the timeline but that'd be a connection)

Yea it was a big school my freshman and Sophmore years were in a 5aa school in Texas, but even here in central NC at my decent sized school in wake county we ran what power heavy guard pulling, iForm 13 personal and 12 personal with a pretty advanced coryell style PA attack (granted my school in texas we were state champs) and Here in east wake we lost the 4AA semi finals, so these were both "football schools"  the offenses and defenses we ran back then are 20x more complex than what you see out of power conference schools now...  its crazy.

It's also disappointing 😕

But Bryce Young wasn't a fit for Frank or Canales....

Young's playing style definitely fits Canales.

On style only, it could also fit Reich but Reich had a well-known preference for taller quarterbacks. Bryce's stature would have necessitated some retooling that I'm not certain happened.

His issues here aren't style related so much as they are his physical limitations.

I'm not sure there is a scheme that "works best" for Bryce that involves more that the 8 passes chris weike through vs the falcons way back when ahhh the wildcat 95% of snaps maybe?

He's already in the kind of offense that best suits his playing style...

...and it still isn't good enough 😕
