Bryce gives backup caliber production behind the highest paid OL in the NFL.   Now, pay Bryce....and you start having to actually do with the roster what you claimed he would provide by drafting him (save money on offense).

We can't part w/ this dude soon enough.  But you can't predict the folks at BOA

Tepper is the wild card in all of this. He's supposedly stepped out, but if we get in and win a playoff game, I could see him getting right back into the decision making because he would feel vindicated.

I have a lot of theories and conjecture, but when you lay out all the pieces, it looks like Tepper is still exerting some influence in our GM's office. I can't believe that Morgan, who went against great QBs as a MLB, looked at Dalton's game tape from last year and thought that was good enough. I just can't.

It's not illogical. Say we make the playoffs, one and done, Bryce gets his 5 year extension, yay team. We get the same Bryce, but start losing parts because of that 50m contract and all those close games we won even back out like they usually do. We're back to 5 to 7 wins for the next 4 or 5 years because one feel good game made our FO do something really stupid, AGAIN.

If losing Saturday gets Bryce out of the building, some like me view that as a long term win. He is not a franchise QB. Our offense is crippled by his limitations. He's UDFA QB production that's being given more chances than he's deserved based on draft position. Getting him out of the building is a win. Unfortunately, I don't see an avenue of winning playoff games that doesn't keep Bryce in the building.

I want long term success for this team. I think the biggest problem for us is Tepper chose Bryce to lead this team and as long as there is any sliver of hope he made the right choice, even with mountains of evidence to the contrary, he'll hang on because "he knew it".

You asked how can anyone root for the Panthers to lose?

I ask, how can you root for them to win if winning likely means 5 more years of Bryce Young as your QB?

This isn't a fan problem, it's a FO problem, and we have a history of FO yes men doing very stupid things.

Back dooring our way to win the division would be fine but it gives the media, front office and Bryce stans a ton of ammo to keep rolling with him.   "He led us to the playoffs!!!!111!!!!!, first time since 2017 !!!!!!!!111!!!"   You know that is coming.   I mean poo on the mac and bone today will p spent the day saying Bryce wasn't at fault sunday

So like I said, you are basing this off nothing but conjecture.  You don't know the teams intentions.  You are getting yourself worked up over assumptions.

The idea that the difference between Bryce being released in the offseason or being given a 5-year extension is one NFL game is silly.  I don't think it is grounded in reality whatsoever.  If the team plans to give Bryce a 5-year contract, it's going to happen regardless of how Saturday goes.

I think you are going to be surprised at what they do if we win.  The media is going to guilt trip the team into an extension

Surprised?  I wouldn't be surprised.

I think you are missing my point.

I'm not saying the Panthers won't extend Bryce.  I'm just saying that decision won't be based off one game.  This game is not going to decide if Bryce is released or given a 5-year deal.  Like, those are crazy extremes.

The people who will be surprised are those who think the Panthers losing this week will automatically mean Bryce is gone in the offseason or won't be starting again for us next year, since that seems to be the only reason people are wanting them to lose.  Which is why I think it is silly to be rooting for that.  Because we can all pretend we know what the FO is thinking, but we don't.  So why not just enjoy the moment and the possibility of hosting a playoff game?  Like, what's the point of being a fan of the team if we can't even enjoy moments like this?  Just because of something that MIGHT happen in the offseason?

to all the Low-T Betas crying about
"pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza" / "we’ll get embarrassed if we admit we like it"

stop the nonsense

stop the embarrassment

go back to watching The View with your girlfriend’s other boyfriend while eating your dry cheese-only slice like a toddler

Pizza culture has not sniffed innovation in nearly a decade, a total abyss of pathetic, boring, flavorless display of culinary cowardice

Do I think pineapple pizza is going to replace pepperoni and conquer the world, absolutely not

Would I be excited to proudly order it anyway? hell yea and deep down you’d give up making out with your first cousin on the weekend to take a bite of a hot, fresh, pineapple slice

We need to normalize pineapple on pizza to set the blocks for the future of flavor

We have an up-and-coming generation of taste buds who need guidance

a STUD of a topping that is COOKING

a wrecking ball of sweetness that hits like a freight train

a stud salty counterpart like ham or bacon to balance it

a young buck of creativity for toppings that is just getting started

a true #1 cheese holding it all together

a solid crust foundation

a sauce that is progressing

It’s not perfect, it’s not traditional, but I am beyond elated with the direction pizza is going

I will be in the pizzeria cheering on the boys stacking pineapple on that dough and so should you

And for the national mouth breather association who will undoubtedly poo and flame everything I post… have a blessed day

Why do you let FNZ rile you up so much? Their goal is to engage and have some level of access to the Panthers which is why they largely are a mouthpiece for the organization rather than an influencer.

Im not getting worked up over anything. I was simply answering your question. I gave a very plausible reason why someone could root for us to lose on Saturday.

We have a very reactionary owner who's acted on emotion several times. I don't think it's at all out of the realm of possibility that an Atlanta type game could result in a long term extension. It happens. Tepper's an owner that's gotten it wrong virtually every step of the way for 8 years. It's not a huge leap to think he wouldn't jump at the opportunity to sign Bryce long term after a "i knew it" moment.

Did you watch MNF yesterday? They mentioned like 3 times how much better it would be for a 5 seed to go to #4 Carolina than to be a 6 seed and play Rams/Seattle/Anyone Else…

Panthers can go toe to toe with anybody in the NFL but they don’t have the talent to actually win. They don’t scare anyone in the playoffs unfortunately.

I didn't watch but was it that blatant of disrespect?   If so damn.

Can we not root for the team while accepting that they are garbage and will get their asses embarrassed or is that not allowed? Because that’s the camp I am in, and my testosterone rests just a hair below 2000.

For some yes

For others no

It's a personal choice and I am with you. Im not rooting for garbage to win by default.
