We've already been down the scapegoat road with Frank Reich. We fired basically the entire staff and started from scratch. Invested vast resources in the OL and WR. 

There is simply no excuse to both get swept by the Saints and lose in embarrassing fashion in the final two games of the season with huge divisonal and playoff implications.

And yes this is all a damning reflection on Dave Canales too.

But there should be absolutely no possibility of firing yet another head coach and keeping Bryce. If one goes both go. Rip the bandaid off and start fresh.

That’s where I disagree is all that I’m saying. Bc who can we sign as vet in the offseason that would be significantly better than Bryce?

why not save our resources that we would spend to sign a retread, keep the QB cost down, keep building the roster and looking to draft his replacement.

the part that sucks though is that I don’t believe they do that. They will keep him and not even try and attempt to bring in competition because that’s just what they do in Carolina.

the writing is on the wall for Bryce, he’s improved and done enough to roll into next season as the starter until we find someone better.

IMO it’s all on Dave canales. I know the refs had played their part. But the conservative play calling continues to bite us in the a$$. You can’t wait until the last 5 mins of a game to take a shot. I know there is a ton of Bryce haters on this board and at moments I’ve been one. But I think when you go back and look at the season Dave forced him to play in a 10 yard box all season under pressure. Runs when we need to pass, pass when we need to run. Gets fancy when the basics are beating the defense. Evero also play 15yards off the ball in 3rd and long. We are 8-9 and counting on the mfn falcons to win bc the coaching staff is scared shitless to take a chance. 
 

this is by far the most frustrating season I’ve ever witnessed bc we had the ability to win the division but couldn’t get out of our own way. I’m not optimistic as long as Dave Canales controls the game. No matter who’s under center or who is on the roster. Dan has some holes to fill this offseason but he’s building a sound roster now get somebody in here that knows wtf to do with it.

also the refs can go get fugged by Vegas

You know if you could read I have clearly stated that I don’t see a Bryce as a long term answer but more of a stop gap.

but I would venture to say you probably didn’t wanna hold on to darnold or baker either.  This is the first season for Bryce and Dave with any continuity. And out of the two one showed progression. Inconsistency is the problem with Bryce but again, I’d rather save money and keep him one more year to draft some LB’s and Pass rushers and draft some young QB talent to compete rather than going out and paying 20 mill for minshew.

only other option is to trade Bryce for picks and cut our losses. But that sets us back further bc we won’t get nothing out of him.

so while your over here spewing hot garbage and not offering anything that resembles a solution, or general topic for debate the rest of us adults can have a legitimate conversation without talkin out of their ass.

If Luke or Greg want to be a head coach, you fire everyone the second the season is over and bring them in. They dont have coaching experience, idgaf, they are better than what we have.

other than that he played great today. And gave this team an opportunity. The scheme and the ideas this offense tries to run is so counteractive to the abilities of this team. We have big receivers, take a Fuggin chance so they don’t sit on the out route the maybe it works?

how about instead of running a gap all game and getting stuffed try a counter, a stretch or a lead off tackle. I can show you countless times where Dave forces the game to be played in tightwindows and refuses to take a shot to keep the defense on their heels.

the stupid flee flicker or fumble whatever the hell it was is a prime example. The next drive down Bryce throws a dime to Coker to score and give us a chance.

the Bryce hate is fine, but Dave plays a part. Bryce can hold it down until we find another guy, but Dave is a bigger problem IMO. 

Off the top of my head:

• Underthrew TMac on the last drive - that's a walk in TD
• Threw the ball behind TMac (2Q?) when he had acres of YAC
• Overthrew Horn on the sideline when he had acres of YAC
• Made Coker and Hubbard make 3 circus catches for about 4 yards (combined - all throwing right)
• Missed a 7 yard slant to TMac for the first down by about 5 yards

 

Other than that though he was perfectly serviceable.

this is a team sport. In all honesty im most frustrated with the refs and Dave’s conservative play calling and the stupid flea flicker.

im fatigued from trying to explain to folks that Bryce ain’t the answer but we shouldn’t cut ties until we know we have his replacement.

its like quitting a job before finding a new one then wondering why your house ends up in foreclosure.

I just don’t want to make the same mistakes we did with cutting Cam, Sam, and Baker all to soon when they all still had some tread left.

Only one I’d be interested in that list is Malik. But it’s doubtful that Green Bay lets him go after his showing this year.
