Maycock suggests we take a QB

Clausen and Sanchez is a fair comparison and still holds up. Last season alone, Sanchez had 15 would-be interceptions dropped. The next higest number was 7. He was encouraged to throw the ball downfield. Clausen was scared to throw it downfield. That came from Fox/Davidson. Different systems and circumstances, same basic QB. You guys do realize this is a team sport and a QB without a supporting casts sucks, don't you?

Now, I don't expect a rational response here. You are so full of Cam love you are attacking any and everyone who is critical of him to a point where he might need a restraining order if he is drafted here. Mayock has some misses--they all do. He is not afraid to stick his neck out. However, you fail to consider that the players he endorses go to different systems and different circumstances. He compares mechanics, skill sets, interviews, etc. You compare results. He never guarantees success. ANy QB needs to be nurtured and developed--like Clausen wasn't here.

Since you guys have been loving Mike Maycock so much.

He just said "At number one you have to decide if Jimmy Clausen is our franchise QB. Because if he is not we got to take one at number one."

You guys have been loving Mike Maycock lately so since he just said that you guys finally ready to draft the QB.

is there a franchise QB in this draft? my opinion, NO. wasting our #1 on Vince Young JR would be a waste. Either of the DE's would be a much safer pick and provide more of an instant contribution than taking a QB this year.

I don't care how many INT's Sanchez might have had...he also made big plays in critical points of games. When have you seen Clausen do that?

Did you want to give Jimmy 2 years to make those plays that Sanchez did, because it took him 2 years.

No it didn't.

Sanchez has some outstanding games from the start, in his very first game throwing for more yards than clausen ever did.

Add to that Sanchez's leadership and clutch abilities and he is miles ahead of Clausen despite some really bad games in the mix.

Clausen has a lot to prove before you can compare him to Sanchez. I don't care how many INT's Sanchez might have had...he also made big plays in critical points of games. When have you seen Clausen do that?

The throw to Lafell vs Cleveland was a heck of a clutch throw for example. There are other examples--my point was he was not turned loose or supported--do you not get that?

You are blaming Clausen for losing a race when they gave him the keys to a Gremlin. Of course you dont care that Sanchez almost threw 30 pics this season--that would make you wrong.

You will see, unless Clausen was damaged by the train wreck we had here

Interceptions tend to get overlooked when you can make up for them in yards, TDS, wins and playoff appearances. And leadership.

People keep referencing this but I don't think its true

Gantt confirmed that it is.

we need a franchise QB. but you can't force a franchise QB. a lot of teams have gotten in trouble for that.

there is no franchise QB in this draft.

There was one, but he stayed in school.
