I wouldn't be mad if they let Rico walk

No brainer move.

let him walk and get a potential comp pick

The no brainer move would have been trading him mid season after those couple big games.

Because we're not getting a comp pick for him, nobody is signing him to a big enough deal to warrant a comp pick coming back our way, especially as we'll have some cap space to spend ourselves, so any signing we make would more than counter act the contract he'd be signing with someone.

He's also going to be 28.  At RB, that's like 33 for other spots.

We also have an out with Hubbard's contract which I honestly think we should take off our hands as well.

As far as I'm concerned, given the way we like to play offense, RB, OT and a WR3 are the offensive needs right now.

Hes going to want a 3 year deal from someone. I hate that it cant be us realistically but our strategy is clear.

We will spend money on the offensive line and plug and play mid tier free agents at RB  and build through the draft.

Thats the way to go to be honest. Defense defense defense is the key now.

Hindsight would say to trade him of course . But at the time we were all saying ride him straight into the playoffs before he got banged up.

Its hard to be upset with them for not making that move.

I hope he gets a bag in free agency, just not from us.

he did exactly what he should have with us. Balled out in a contract year and helped us win some games.

I hope he’s rewarded for it but you just can’t pay two running backs in this league that kind of money unless they are game breakers.

If we don't resign him (which I get if we don't), we will either need to draft one or sign another free agent RB.

Etienne is clearly a bust and Brooks is probably a lost cause

clearly??? has etienne even played enough to determine that?

    • 5 straight completions in the 4th quarter to get into the red zone and then score a stand up rushing TD and celly in one of the best defenses faces to bring the score within 1 possession against the super bowl champs is "stunned" to you?
    • yes, if you read what I said - that was due to his record breaking 245 yard 4th quarter performance in garbage time when the Seahawks were already celebrating. If Bryce puts up big numbers in the 4th quarter, people like you are quick to call it garbage time stats but seem to get selective when other QB's do it because it doesn't fit your narrative.  also, I'm logical enough to admit that Drake is a great QB and his performance had a lot to do with his protection, play calling, and other aspects. The game does not fall completely on the QB. Just like how the Panthers were still in the game vs Seattle until Horn's penalty changed that. It is a team sport, so many factors, players, refs, coaches are involved and it only takes one thing to change the game. the obsession with Bryce is just nauseating at this point and if you pay attention on here, it's the same 10 users quoting and pieing each other. it's super weird and everywhere else you go, opinions on Bryce are trending upwards. the way the season ended, the vibe at the stadium, the performance, should have everyone excited about this next season. Idk, maybe I just look at life and my entertainment outlets differently than others.
    • Are we sure something hasnt happened to him because that seems pretty shitty to simply abandon this place
