Bryce = Alex Smith

Smith also kept getting hurt because they hadn’t changed the rules yet to let someone that small survive in the nfl.

like how many games do you think Bryce has missed by this point if Defenders are still allowed to land on him?

What are you even talking about smith was 6’4 220 😂 why does your memory tell you he was small

Just as long as every year for the last three.

And will be the next two years with Bryce at quarterback! Ever think all that time complaining about the exact same thing over and over could be spent better?

While I'm not the biggest Bryce Young fan, BY's first 3 season's beats Alex Smith's first 3 seasons' out the water, as hard that is to fathom, and it's not even particularly close (even factoring injuries).

I saw this as well. I remembered Smith's rookie year being incredibly (like, not even 11 TD/10 INT) bad.

Ding ding ding. Some people here aren’t old enough to remember. Alex Smith was considered a bust for years. He didn’t really start figuring it out until he was about 28 when he went to the Chiefs.

Bryce is not Smith. Bryce has way more limitations then Smith.

Bryce Young has half the talent or less, however. That's an issue.

Fair enough my man. Keep on keepin’ on

I didn’t post on here nearly 9 months because of the bullshit, but am too addicted to Panthers watching and fanning to hold out any longer.
I have been ‘up to here’ with the constant back and forth since I came back and have abstained from making comments many times.
And engage in plenty of other aspects of things- players on the Panthers roster and the season and the games but I only get treated poorly by the pro Bryce fans. (The extreme ones, and I feel like the more immature ones).

Alex Smith was a more efficient passer and had a higher YPA.

They are comparable in some ways but at 6'4 213 Alex Smith was not limited the way Bryce is.

Alex Smith had NFL tools.  Just not a NFL trigger.

    • Ehlers needs to sit. Definitely can't lose him to a meaningless game.
    • Bet didn't hit because the referee missed 3 clear corner kicks. I had a 5k parlay that would have been alive tomorrow if he didn't miss those calls as well. Super annoying
    • I don't think it's at all a given that we have players who are good at driving the basket. I guess that depends on your definition. Bridges is 43rd in attempts in the paint Miller is 64th and LaMelo is 66th. We all love to see the lob threat but it's largely miniscule at this point in time. There's gotta be a solution here if LaMelo is to be the centerpiece because this is simply not sustainable if we want to continue to ascend. If he can't drive to the basket then that means we need to add another player to the core who consistently can. That would require moving someone like Miles Bridges. And that's certainly not going to be popular with LaMelo but something has to give here for what we are investing and we need to maximize guys like Miller and Knueppel on rookie deals while we still can. The three chucking is fine when it's working where the issue comes into play is there are no adjustments when it isn't and we just go into a shell and begin to look like the Hornets of yesteryear. That's why the offensive evolution of all involved is critical to us taking the next step. Getting to the play in is nice but we should have our sights set much higher. Right now though they need to take care of business against the Heat. All I ask is that they at least beat those fools. I cannot stand the Heat.
