I agree with that entirely because of how many drafts in a row we have taken wr early.  The flip side of that is we still dont have a very great wr group.   Tet is very solid, I will get flamed for this but I still think his ceiling is an elite #2 like Tee Higgins, Coker has shown a lot of flashes and I think he deserves a chance but im not sure what his ceiling is.  After drafting all these receivers in the first and second we still have no shifty receivers who can just run good routes and create separation consistently.   Horn has that potential I guess but hes more of a gadget guy.  All that said I dont trust ou front office like a lot of people seem to.  I think Dan has done a great job at throwing money at the top free agents and they have played well.  Everything outside of that is hit or miss.  Last years draft had a lot of contributors.

Okay I’ll set myself up for a bunch of Bryce crap here but what I have real questions about is the OC, and the HC both have backgrounds as receivers coaches. I figured we were in good shape there but it has been pretty unspectacular. I think T Mac was sort of a gimme, you don’t need a lot of deep understanding of WR to see what he is.
Why can’t people with expert level insight into the position get us someone skilled deeper in the draft? They have to keep using 1st rounders? Either they don’t know poo or the QB is the problem. IE he can’t function without top talent. And is slow with that to be honest.
XL is sort of a beast and has made some great plays along with the bonehead stuff that people focus on. Who is it that can’t figure out how to use him? The coaches? The Qb? I am not trying to say he is great but at the same time he has been mishandled or misused since he got here.

Those two have had 2 drafts.  They drafted 2 receivers. A dud and a stud and  got us an UDFA whos a starter.

They had nothing to do with the previous 2nd rounders.

If they draft another 1st round wr it will prove they are in over their head as a FO.

To be fair. Most post that I see from you come from a place of negativity. I think being so cut throat on things like the draft seem to me as if those thoughts are lacking their due diligence. There isn’t any one position that I think holds more value to the team than another except for the QB position. So adding pieces in any manner helps. I do agree you have to take into account needs and where we are short. But if we pulled a receiver out of the draft that was like Jamar Chase. I don’t think you’re singing that tune. Or passing on a guy that caliber for let’s say and OT that is equitable to Ekwonu.

both play their parts in making the team better or worse but one can be a game changer.

i think early on with your picks the best approach is looking for a game changer at any position. And hopefully that falls in line with our needs. But if not, and we land a generational talent then that can help us win.

and I do understand value and positionally where that can be a reach. So I do understand your take. But saying the FO is failure by drafting a certain position group before seeing the cat play is short sighted IMO

I've done my homework on the guys who could be there at our pick and the best available to us will not be a WR or TE. We are 1 injury away to the oline to be looking down the barrel of another losing season. You tell me what position is going to help avoid that.

Brother and memo to all huddlers, Coker has missed 6 games each year and most of the mini, OTAs, and TC too.

I keep hammering WR to the Panthers, not cause I want it, just it does much sense and panthers know this.

so you want to draft yet another WR in the first or second round that's supposed to save this offense, which would make 5 out of 6 years right? And we HIT ON ONE, and that's a hopefully.

We have other positions  of need and TE takes care of adding a weapon and a blocker. If Sadiq is there, there is no other option.

Canales said they aren't drafting for depth.

Its not depth. Its your starting left or right tackle in 2027. Honestly they could be starting before this season is over.

Can’t agree more. Although I’m warning up to KC/Cooper possibly. The sum of what Proctor or Freeling *could* be or even the Utah guys I guess…is way more than what either of those two could be.

Zach Branch could’ve you close to what they can at a discount. Obviously Cooper is tougher after the catch, but still. These guys ain’t going to be world beaters.

I am no oddsmaker but I’d have to guess 50% on Moton making the entire schedule. On the other side, if Walker goes down? We are in rough seas.

Cooper is a slot receiver and though we need one the 1st round is too high. The tackles are deep in the 1st round but after that it's just guys converting to guard in the nfl. I think there are 4 true tackle prospects on day 1 so it will depend on who's left when we pick. If none of them are then I would consider CB or S as that is probably the best available for us and helps the team more than a slot receiver at this time.

The way I see it is they will have to decide when they want to address the tackles. I would prefer they do it this draft and use next year's 1st on qb. If they don't do it this draft that means they plan to next year which takes qb off the table.
