The Freddie playoff wall

Every Stanley cup is won by a goalie that bailed their team out at some point.  We aren’t getting that from Freddie at this point.  I think Rod will start Bussi

This team needs some kind of message sent. Its risky, but its something.

You need a goalie that can take scores away from the opponent even when the defense breaks down.
Freddie failed over and over these last 3 games.
Bussi in just 2 and a half periods made multiple stops that if Freddie was in net would have been a score.
He should start game 4. I feel sorry for him that the winning goal was scored of a fluky rebound.

Gotta go bus.  Freddie helped get us here but I can’t think of a better time to pass the torch.

Freddie expected in net for game 4.

This would be a little ludicrous. The Bus looked so much more comfortable in between the pipes and was a huge reason as to why the Canes were able to fight back in Game 3. Had Freddie stayed in, the Canes lose that game 6-1 in regulation.

Personally, I'm surprised the first 3 rounds went the way they did.  I think Freddie is the same Freddie that lost the starting job this season, and he's the same goalie that let in goals in the first minutes of Olympic games.  He has had the luxury of great defensive play in front of him.  To win, the team needs him to be the last line of defense.  I'm not expecting him to turn into the greatest goalie to ever play the game, but it's also not asking too much for him to return the favor once or twice when defense breaks down.  Any time it's 1-on-1 or the shooter has a clean path from center net, it goes in.  To win this cup we have to have a goalie that can stop some of those.  I get not every goal is on Freddie, but at some point it's not asking too much to ask him to show up in a bad situation.  In the SCF, I haven't seen him do it.
