Judges sides w/ players on lockout insurance

seems to be the popular opinion. side with the poor players who are in no way at fault and just want to play.

i call bullpoo. maybe they're less greedy but they aren't helping the situation at all and they are very dishonest in how they go about speaking to fans and the media.

both sides make me sick and i'd be glad to see a lockout.

good. the TV deal was giving unfair and uncommon leverage.

It's more likely a fair deal will get done now

On the contrary. Baring a miracle in the next couple days, I'd say this is going to move the owners to lockout the players or force them to strike.

The players winning in court and owners being told they have to pay money will only make them more resistant to the demands of the players. Having judicial action take sides in an ongoing negotiation is a breach of good faith. It's only going to make the battle walls go higher.

That really doesn't make sense

I think this could be huge as far as giving the players some chips to play. Regardless if you are for the players or owners, the owners had $4 billion to wait the players out. They now will have to escrow the money, as I understand it. They can't use it to pay the bills. I think I understand this correctly. I did not read all of the posts because they started getting off track, so sorry if this was said.

THis should create a bigger sense of urgency.

It nothing. The NFL will not change its stance the players are gonna get locked out, the Union busted and come September, October and November when the players are going broke, they will crawl back to the table.

Oh and if the NFL wants, they can appeal Doty's decision to the federal appeals court and most likely get it over ruled.

Nope, owners will cut coaches salaries or even can some of them because there are clauses in the contracts for most coaches that if it comes to a lockout or strike, the owners can dump them and not owe them a dime. Also they will significantly cut the amount of office staff they have. they won't spend on advertisements etc.

Yeah its a slight burden but not anywhere near the burden the players are going to start having without paychecks or insurance.
