He's been a solid nose tackle over the years, played in San Deigo.

Don't know if he has anything left if Denver is cutting him. They

need all the help they can get up front.

Looks like Fox is going 4-3. Look for DL on draft day from the Broncos. Honestly the problem with Denver has been switching defenses every other year and drafting for those defenses then dumping them.

Broncos release veteran DTs Williams, Bannan

Broncos released DTs Jamal Williams and Justin Bannan.

The veteran pair was imported last year to fix the run defense in Wink Martindale's 3-4 scheme. That obviously didn't work, and with the move to John Fox's 4-3 defense, it didn't make sense to keep a nose tackle and a five-technique at bloated salaries. Williams was due a $1 million bonus on the third day of league year to go with his $4.2 million salary. Bannan was due a $500,000 bonus two days later in addition to his $3.5 million salary. The moves will make defensive tackle a higher priority in the draft at No. 2 overall.

I wonder how hard he will try and take Charles Johnson away from us. I would also laugh if a guy like Landri ends up there.

I'd take him, he's a good run stuffer but it depends on what kind of front we use.

The man is 34yrs old and has been in a 3-4 his whole career...he does not fit here, so forget about it.

And BTW, I thought Landri was pretty darn good, but he should be coming off the bench, not starting.

yea when i made a thread about fox in the broncos forum i basically gave them a heads up and told them they were probably switching to a 4-3 and they were like "NO, WE'RE NOT!!"

If Rivera thinks he fits the scheme he will likely just talk to Williams and see if he thinks he has anything left in the tank. Williams was an anchor is SD for years, I just don't know how he's aged.

Isn't he a 3-4 DT? I mean its not impossible for him to come here especially since Maake came here and he was at one time a 3-4 DT. But someone with more football knowledge would we run the same DT technique that Fox used or another one with our new DC?
