4 TE's

King is gone and should be. He isn't really starter material unless you just expect your TE just to block. Rosario is the guy every year that we keep saying he has a ton of potential but hasn't developed. Maybe it was coaching. Then again maybe it is the fact that he tends to drop the ball when we need him to catch it.

I personally like King. I think people underestimate his catching ability. Sure he isn't going to get the YAC like true catching TE's. But everything thrown to him is pretty much caught. I followed him back at his days at Tech and was hoping we would draft him since he fitted the mold of a Fox TE. And we did and he hasn't been a let down here.

Like someone else stated here, I think a lot of players view him as a leader type player in the huddle and does what he is told to do without complaining. I'd be kinda upset if we let him go elsewhere but it's a business.

Panthers have kept 4 TEs before. With Shockey's injury history and the fact that the three existing TEs all have positives associated with their game, don't be too shocked to see the team keep all 4. Will be harder though if Kasay is still the kicker and the Panthers have to keep another kickoff specialist.

I actually think the team will take all four to camp and let them fight it out (barring any other pickups).

I'm probably one of the few who thinks King is more likely to stay than Rosario or Barnidge.

Yes, they typically do carry 4 up until the 3rd preseason game. The 4th guy is usually an undrafted rookie or equivalent. Interesting to see a real camp battle for that 3rd spot without favoritism from the coach for a change. I don't think it will come to that though, Dante or Jeff will sign elsewhere.

    • Some people will shift the goal posts but he does still have to consistently help the team win, eventually. Not only help but be the reason. That's what franchise QB's do.
    • One of the Carolina Panthers' newest defenders thinks their pass rush can go from worst to first. ESPN's David Newton recently chatted with outside linebacker Pat Jones II, who signed with the Panthers as a free agent earlier this offseason. Jones comes over from an awfully impressive Minnesota Vikings defense—one that ranked first in takeaways (33), fourth in sacks (49) and second in QB pressure rate (44.4 percent) this past season. And despite a historically-bad campaign by Carolina's defense in 2024, the 26-year-old seems to believe his new unit can be similar—or even better—than his last. "I definitely think we could do something similar, if not better," Jones said, via Newton. "I've seen it before, so I know what it looks like. I look around the building and see we have exactly what it takes to do that." https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/05/24/panthers-pat-jones-vikings-espn/83840667007/?taid=683219b347846900018fa10a&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter     It's the offseason.  Let hope spring eternal. (actually, I think we are much closer than this board thinks)
    • 5 total TDs against the Falcons was pretty good efficiency and he showed that ability to go off scripts and get 2 of those TDs rushing.  How many times did he deliver big time throws against pressure.  I agree we need to see this offense operate at high efficiency which starts with Bryce. When he does I hope the goals posts won’t shift to some other stat like QB sneaks lol
