"According to the initial police report and two sources familiar with the case, per the Observer, Talib attempted to hit his sister's boyfriend, Shannon Billings, with a pistol. Following a struggle, Talib then, allegedly, fired shots at Billings as Billings ran away."

All these players with nothing to do during the lockout... these guys better get a deal done or we'll be opening new correctional facilities just to house athletes.

espn link from good ole yas ^

guy is a hell of talent and if I'm the bucs I'm pissed as poo right now, this doesn't look good. They thought they had a lockdown corner for years to replace Barber.....I bet he gets cut.

If the guy could just stay out of trouble he is a Pro-Bowl player......the Raiders, Pats, or Bungles will pick him up if he is cut

He's being charged with Aggravated assault with a firearm. It carries a 5-20 year sentence and in Texas if you discharge a firearm during another crime, you get no possibility of parole.

If found guilty, this will effectively end his career. Had he shot the victim, it would be attempted manslaughter, effectively ending his life(20-life).

Well, what if he was confronting his brother in law because of the way he was treating his sister?

How many of us would defend our sibling if they were in trouble?

I agree with Mr Scot, he didn't have to use a gun AND he knows he is under the spotlight and can't do that kind of poo.

On that note, if I were an NFL owner, I would put a clause in the contracts that stated that the players were not allowed to own concealed weapons.
