Racism Quiz: The Answer Key

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

The guys who got mislabeled the most:

- The vast majority whiffed on Josh Freeman right out of the gate. Only about two or three people got him right. I think one person actually identified him by name but I forget who.

- Lots of whiffs on Andre Woodon too. Then again, not sure how many fans could pick him out of a lineup, honestly. Good number of misses on Chase Daniel and Rhett Bomar too.

- No shock. Quite a few people misidentified The Golden Calf of Bristol as a black quarterback. If you think that's hysterically ironic, you're right

The guys with the fewest misses? Kevin Kolb, J P Losman, and our own Matt Moore were misidentified only three times each. The absolute lowest, however, was Jordan Palmer, though I think it's safe to say that many assumed Nawrocki was actually describing Eli Manning (which, given what he said, tells me you guys really must not think much of Eli).

Well, I learned that Mr. Scot has no clue what racism really is, and goes to great lengths to try and create subjective arguments to try and make light of or downplay racism that is still prevalent in our culture.

Actually, I wouldn't say I learned that, so much as had it confirmed to me today.

I learned people like you are insecure.

That's what I learned.

Insecure about what?

I want us to draft Newton. Hell, I was one of the first people, if not the first, on this board to suggest it.

Suggesting that people who criticize Newton (as we do any prospect) have any, even subtle, racial motivations, shows a sign of insecurities to me.

To feel the need to stand up for what you are (and this isn't just applied to race) when there is no need to.

Insecure.

Wooooooooow... no one light a match. This strawman could burst on fire any second.

I'm stating a FACT that there is racism present in criticism towards Newton. I've actually seen it on this board... recently actually (sylvanlight's comments that black QBs are usually bad), and in the past since Newton's name came up.

Now... you want to say it's isolated to just a handful of people on this board, that's fine. You put on those blinders. I am going to be a little more honest, and say that I agree with Warren Moon on this.

Insecurity... lol... you people kill me....

The black/white crap can be argued ad nauseum by those that have invested a significant portion of their mental makeup in its "ubiquitous prevalence" in our everyday lives. Admission of anything contrary threatens the foundations of so much of their collective persona.

For me, what I take away from this exercise is the highly accurate analyses by this writer. What I dismissed as another writer as likely making his yearly exercise of draft prospecting may actually warrant a serious look into his insights as being legit. It's like listening to Gil Brandt without having to wade through the PC-talk for actual talent evaluation.
