PFW Previews Panther Prospects

So we can agree that they publish what they have but don't update it if additional info is available. Kind of makes it obsolete pretty quickly.

It's published in book form. How exactly would you update a book that's already published?

The website is only copying what's in the book. They have continuing coverage on their site, but it's not like you can print a new edition of the book everytime something new comes out.

And I'll add this.

There are four different prospects linked in the OP. There'll be more if they're published online. And the things that are being discussed in this thread about Newton were already known and are being discussed heavily in about 20 other threads ongoing right now?

Could we not use this thread to discuss some of the other prospects rather than just making it another Newton thread and rehashing the same crap that's in all the others? :nonod:

I think this is just a case of focusing on the negatives on a player in case he busts, so he can add that credential to the list of players he got right if he does bust..if he turns out to be a success he will do everything he can to distance himself from this assessment and try to say he got the positives right. He's covering all his bases but unlike most he takes it to the extreme..must be a 90's guy.

The profiles contain positives and negatives about every player, not just Newton.

The questions do include discussion of character, and for good reason.

Do you think guys like Todd Marinovich, JaMarcus Russell and Brian Bosworth failed in the NFL for strictly athletic reasons?

DAMNIT!!! I hate when u are right. :) yeah I missed it. I looked in the negatives but it was up at the top. Sonbitch.

:D

Reading these is like riding a rollercoaster.

You read all the positives and you're like "wow, we should definitely take this guy".

Then you read the negatives and you're like "oooooohhh. maybe not".

Nobody gets by unscathed. I can tell you the "negatives" on Bowers, Mallett and even Dareus will definitely give you pause. The guy who grades out the best? A J Green.

It'd be too much work to write up the ones not published online (Mallett's covers almost a full two pages in print) but I might transcribe the summaries. I'm mainly hoping that the others will get online eventually so that we can have all eight to compare.

Speaking of intelligence questions...

Not smart or disciplined and brain freezes show up in his play... Is only a one-year producer and has underachiever tendencies — loafs on the backside and takes plays off... Plays dirty, seeks cheap shots and has been flagged for foolish, unsportsmanlike penalties. Needs to be pushed and is not a self starter.

Guess who?

I keep saying if we take Newton we are going to be sorry.

We will be drafting in the top 3 again next year probably at #1.

There are about 5 blue chip all-pros out there this year that are better then Newton.
