How far does the apple fall from the tree?

Cams Dad Cecil Newton Sr played DB for the Cowboys for 2 years and recorded 3 tackles in 9 games.

Cams Brother, Cecil Newton Jr is on the Jacksonville practice squad and hasn't really been given a chance to play.

There is football blood in his family but NFL success is lacking. Your thoughts?

it's not like HoFers breed HoFers and scrubs breed scrubs. Plenty of HoFers kids just barely make it. Being in the NFL even on the practice squad means that you're in the top 1%(maybe even less) of anybody that ever played organized football competitively. That's some serious stuff right there.

I think what I like more is that his parents have had such a stable marriage which is nice. You know he had a stable home environment.

After a storm like yesterday's im guessing the apple may have been driven into the ground..thus planting another tree. Then an apple falls from that tree, thus falling close to the tree yet further from the original tree.

u have to be somewhat successful to be on an nfl team, right?

Right, but since we're discussing how his dad and brothers success in the NFL would translate to Cam's potential success, I thought it would be fair to discuss how his dad and brother faired in the college ranks compared to Cam...

Oliver Luck was a highly touted QB prospect coming out of college. Was drafted in the second round by the Houston Oilers and was a complete bust.

You think if Luck were available we would be worried about his dad's NFL history? ;)
