Will half this board comitt suicide if we dont draft Newton?

Eh. We'd be set in that case. Our side will have Newton. With his mobility, arm strength, and accuracy on his deep throws, the other side won't know what hit them when he starts slinging grenades faster and harder than any launcher.

But how accurate will he be with those grenades? Will he tuck at the first sight of pressure and try to run the grenades to the enemy lines without getting blown up?

I feel safer with a guy who can accurately throw a grenade than one who is going to constantly try and run it to the enemy. All it takes is that one time getting blown up while running with the grenade and it's over for him

I rarely laugh on this board, so thanks.

I 100% endorse drafting Cam....if he isn't drafted I would be perfectly happy pending they at least bring in a legit vet that can throw a football (like a Palmer).

I would rather have Palmer. We should have tagged DeWill and traded for him. Now we can't trade players in the draft, just picks. But, we don't get value for our previous first round picks, we just let them walk.

Given we have never drafted a QB first in the draft (trading down when we picked Collins) and we haven't committed group suicide, I really doubt it would happen now. Will some of us be disappointed? Yes. But after the 2-14 season last year, we are used to that as well.:D

Seriously, we have already passed on plenty of other good QB's over the years so why would one more drive anybody over the edge?

We're all used to mediocrity and a change from that is scary for some folks.

As long as he can juke and jive the bullets flying at him as he's running toward his destination, I'm fairly confident he can throw the grenade fast enough to not get caught in the blast.

Hitting the intended target may indeed be another story. If 4 of our guys are fighting with two of their guys in hand to hand combat, I can definitely see a grenade landing on the entire group.

Serious discussion is out the window regarding anyone that isn't a Panther or was a Panther last season.

People here just can't handle it. I've ventured into other forums for my daily reading now, even stopped by the NASCAR forum and saw some random thread by Darth U.

When the draft is over I will return to my normal self

Please don't. This board had been so pleasant lately.

    • I didn't move the goal posts. But anyone who follows football who wants to engage in a rational discussion can't argue that 10 7th round picks are equal to 10 1st rounders in value. The argument has always been we haven't spent as much on defense has we have on offense. Draft picks have value just like salary. We have not spent the same amount of draft pick salary cap on defense that we have on offense since drafting Bryce. It's not even close. Just the 2 1sts we used on Bryce, 2 overall 1sts have a value of 6000. That doesn’t even factor in DJ Moore or the 2 2nds. Bryce cost more than everything we've spent on defense in 6 damn years.
    • We need to hope this scenario plays our next week he fails with pressure…what that means with Evero, is beyond me
    • Woukd be a great addition You know the issues from my prespective, 2 things the Panthers must do 1. Edge or pass rushers or 2 oline or 3 oline or as Andy Reid says, when in doubt, draft a lineman it is time   That oline is troubling plus a small person at QB  they   1. Can do a lot better than mayes at center, 2. and lewis has had injuries all season. 3. Moton should not have  been resigned long term, 4. corbett is a shadow and will probably be released  5 and Christianson coming off Achilles   6 and the kicker, would be Ickey’s contract if they decide to keep him INMO rookie and contracts will be needed to offset all that
