Could it be that they annouce that Peppers has signed a long term contract? Hear me out.

I think it is very possible that Pepper's agent, can't remember his name right now, has got some feelers back from some teams now that Gross seems to be all but signed. Those offers are no where close to what the Panthers offered Pepper's to begin with and Pepper's decides to stay in Carolina. I think he wants out of Carolina but at the end of the day money will be the deciding issue.

Just a guess is all so don't take this as any more than just that.
