Maybe its best to Trade down.?

I know i am a quaterback supporter on this board and just been real you are not going to be a good team unless you have a good quarterback. I been running thoughts and even concerns back through my mind everyday on what the panthers should do. I like Cam Newton and there is alot of others who do and if you think that person can be a potential franchise quarterback you shouldnt pass on them. But is this the right thing for the panthers to do right now? Should we just trade down and pick up a second round pick and draft a Quarterback in the second round maybe Mallett or Locker and in the first draft a Wide Reciever or maybe a DT. And if it dont work next year use the first to trade up and maybe get luck. Even though whoever that has the first pick will probably get him. Just something to think about it might even open our eyes about what might be best.?

I'm not against trading down, but a QB should not be in the equation, unless Cam happens to still be on the board. And then it's a win win!

Thats why I think a good trade scenario would be with Arizona or maybe with the Bengals. We really wouldnt be completely out of the running for a Quarterback. But there still will be maybe two teams we will have to worry about getting Cam Newton or Gabbert or whoever Carolina want a QB. For Example we make a trade with Arizona they get to the top and take Gabbert. Denver goes Dareus and And when it gets kind of Unknown is when Buffalo get on the clock and the Bengals. We could probably miss out on Newton. But we will get a first round pick next year and plus a second this year.

A better scenario would probably be with the bengals. And if we give them the number 1 overall we just gotta hope they take Gabbert or even Dareus. Then that will change Denver board they can either go Pass rusher at DE or OLB or CB. But thats also leave Buffalo as the wild Card. But it still will be a better chance to get Newton. And when can pick up a second round pick and can get a pretty go DT.

They are both risky scenarios. But if they go well it could probably payoff. Just my opinion on a trade scenario.

Really? You think they are going to give up 2 first rounders and a second to move up 3 or 4 spots. Where do you get this from? Hope youre not too disappointed when you come back to reality from la-la land

Its was a hypothetical scenario.. I dont know what picks they will get except for there overall pick for this year and maybe a second. I dont know. Just offering my opinion on what i think could have a pretty chance to happen.

Just the added dimension that his feet bring is worth bring him in.

I say we just bring in his feet then. It doesn't count as a whole player, and probably doesn't cost as much either. Feet may smell terrible but they don't have the character issues.

That weird dude at draftheadquarters Shawn Zobel says;

BREAKING: Arizona and Washington are discussing trades with Denver to move up to No. 2 overall to select Blaine Gabbert

Blaine Gabbert is NO. 1 OVR player on CINCINNATI and ARIZONA's Board. They both know this, which is why trade talks are ensuing

CAROLINA also considering trading out of first overall (50-50 chance). Depending on how big package is, they may be willing to do it

I'm sure not a day goes by that Hurney isn't game for a deal, but I also think he will hold firm and stay at 1 if he can't get enough value. So I would say 50/50 in theory, but much more likely Panthers stay at 1 in real world probability. At least this is what my ass says.

Hadn't heard anyone would trade up for Gabbert. I like the trade down scenario and assumed it meant no Cam. I think it is important for fans to get a player that can make games exciting, which IMO is either Newton or Peterson. I think if we did trade down a bit, we could get either of those guys still ( plus a 2nd rounder), if Gabbert is really a target and not a smokescreen
