Are the panthers that bad?

I think we'll be back very strong. We've got the best defense in the NFC South. I think the Saints are a finesse team that we can man handle if we get the right coaching and offense going.

2 years ago ESPN would have said that we were one of the most talented teams. We still have a lot of those players, and now we're not apparently. They can eat dick.

We've got:

1. A top 6 DE and an interesting set of pass rushers.

2. The best RB core in the league (undisputed)

3. Top 3 LB core

4. Top 5 Offensive line when healthy

5. A fast and decent set of playmaking safeties.

6. Some promising young WR's and Steve Smith. Smith is still good, if you watch the games the NFL still thinks so.

7. A CB that when motivated is top 10.

Just need to establish QB and bring in a DT we can be proud of.

6. Some promising young WR's and Steve Smith. Smith is still good, if you watch the games the NFL still thinks so. agree, and think Smith can produce at some level for years to come. Maybe not always as the #1, but will put up plenty of catches, etc more than any other #2 or #3 would

7. A CB that when motivated is top 10. I have never been much of a Gamble fan... but maybe some of that was the style he was coached to play

I definately agree the Panthers have talent. At the end of the day what it will come down to though with that is how much of it do they resign, and what this new coaching staff can get out of them. and of course the QB position has to be address!! This team is much better with just some decent play there.

Agreed, but our players aren't garbage. We get talked about like we are the Lions and need to tear apart the whole team. We are a few pieces away from being respectable. I think Rivera will get this thing turned around real fast.

Ridiculous. We have major holes at QB and DT. We could use some depth at OT and CB and MAYBE DE. Needing a little depth does not = major holes.

It's the philosophy that has been our problem, not the talent. Hopefully Rivera can make JR and Hurney see that things MUST change.

the Panthers are the worst team in the NFL right now with no real scenarios of getting above .500.

you can do all the twisting of facts you like but you can't change what we are.

Until our owner and coach figures out a way to win more than 1 out of 4 years then we are destined for the basement.

How many finished on IR?

How old is SS, and does he still want to be here?

We have some good young talent, but we are lacking major talent at a few of the most important positions on the field.

Barring injuries, we are a QB away from a deep playoff run. Upgrade a few more positions and we are set. The mass media just doesn't know our players, but I really believe that our core set ranks in the top 10. If we can get hot near December, the team has a chance at a title.

Yes, we are that bad. Most of are losses came from bad play calls to be honest. I've mostly been irritated lately about our current trend of trading draft picks for magic beans.

If you find an analyst that does their homework, they tend to mention that the Panthers are not that bad off. The ones that think we'll be at number 1 next year look at the record and that's it.

Ask me again after the draft. I will either say yes but we are on the right track, or yes get used to it, gonna be a while.

For the record; I consider 8-8 just as bad as 2-14. Neither are in the playoffs (in this division). At least 2-14 gets you a good draft pick.
