Every single Gabbert play in 3 games

Yeah, he couldn't possibly learn to deal with it, that's completely out of the question.

He might be able to learn to deal with pressure in his face, and get a better sense of pocket presence. But usually QBs don't learn to deal with pressure, it's one of those you can either deal with it or you can't things. Kinda like most of the time accuracy can't be learned, you either have it or you don't.

care to elaborate on how one teaches somebody how to handle pressure?

Practice essentially, for a week straight my coaches taught me pressure due to me being sacked on four different occasions in one game.

There are so many different ways to teach it, I was personally rushed by two different sides with big bags, it was one side, the other, or both, sometimes they would even swing one behind me, my eyes were glued downfield or they would hit me. It gave me a strong sense if pressure. If I scrambled unnecessarily I would also get hit. I eventually got almost perfect feeling for it, when to step up, spin, duck, etc.

Not to mention, generally if your lineman breaks down he will let you know haha.

"THROW IT JUSTIN!"

"...sh*t."

The two QBs I like the most is Ricky Stanzi and Newton, I think they would fit well with the kind of offense the Panthers run.

Ricky Stanzi:

(VS Michigan State) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHjfp...eature=related

Cam Newton:

(VS Kentucky) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZVlg...el_video_title

(VS Alabama) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIZ9S...layer_embedded

(VS LSU) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlHtF...feature=relmfu

Stanzi is a sleeper.

You picked two of his worst games, he had three bad games this year..and you managed to pick two of them.

Let me go ahead and pull up some bad Manning games and tell you how horrible he is.

Here's a better question. Why is all of his bad games against good defenses? If he can't prove anything against quality opponents, why in the blue hell would you want him? He had 1 good game against a good team, Oklahoma, and he did NOTHING against other good teams.

If he's so good why did he only throw for a putrid 16 tds in the spread offense?

because when they got in the redzone/goal line situations they ran the ball.

tis true

fun story, I had a dream last night that hurney came on the draft stage and announced who he was going to take. he said "I came in here wanting to take Dareus, but I just can't, I can't, The decision is down to either newton or gabbert." then he picked gabbert.

I was all, WTF Mate?

you most certainly can improve how a player responds to pressure... Bradford had issues with it too. especially in translating to the NFL where the ball had to be out QUICK. so, the Rams set up a drill system where they lined up with bradford, got him the the ball and blew a whistle every 3 or 5 seconds to signify he had just been sacked depending on the how the defense lined up and what amount of time he'd have to get the ball out.

because when they got in the redzone/goal line situations they ran the ball.

you're right on about the first part.

second part just isn't happening. I love Gabbert and all but he's just not a #1 draft pick. =|
