Optimal Situation

Carolina Crazy V2

Recommended Posts

We have already signed Gross which is great. I definetely wouldn't want to waste the franchise tag on him.

The Peppers situation is still undecided. We have tagged him, but what comes next?

Optimal Situation: We trade Peppers for two first round draft picks.

Probable Situation: We trade Peppers for first and third round picks.

Worst Situation: We cannot find a team to pass Peppers on to, so he stays here another year and we do not pick up any draft picks and are left with minimal cap room

What does we all thinks will happen?

I want more then the optical solution. I want a kings ransom for him. 1st, 3rd, 5th (09) 1,3 (2010).

That seems to be a kings ransom to me.

I would shat my pants if anyone paid that but it does seem that we (as fans that watch him every sunday) undervalue him wayyyy to much. This guy is PRIME defensive talent and if he wasn't so damn stubborn as to where he wants to go we would have people beating down our door to give us a first round draft pick + more compensation to get him. As it stands now it is unknown who in the AFC he wants to play for so he will likely go to the team he wants to play for and bring back the offer sheet. When he does that, that team will have the upper hand by knowing that they are the main market and Pep will not be happy and may not sign anywhere else. Which reallly sucks...

It will be interesting to see what team, if any, want him.

Those coaches have tape, and they know his weaknesses quite well.

Two #1s are a lot.

...of course, so was the $16 million the Panthers will have to pay him.

Obviously, if the Panthers are willing to pay any one player $16 Million, then Julius is not the legend in his own mind I think he is.

If only that man had Brad Hoover's heart in his body.

We'll see.

    • This is what I mean. I am not some huge BY fan. I honestly don't look at QBs the way a lot of you guys do. Right or wrong, I've always looked at them as just another cog in the machine. Didn't want BY or even a trade up for a QB in 2023. We saw in the Super Bowl how important the rest of the team is on any given Sunday. Now... so PFF, who has no reason to prop up BY, says he's first in 2 stat lines and Panthers "fans" are arguing why it's either wrong or a made up stat just to make BY look good. Even though they have multiple stat lines where he's literally last in. Like 32nd in the NFL. Some he's even lower than 32. Take a step back. Try to objectively self analyze. This is just not sensible.  Same thing I see with other teams' fans and their QBs though. We analyze every single throw on every single play. For every other QB, most here are only using highlights to judge. Makes a difference. We saw Stafford miss throws when they played Carolina - both games. We saw Love throw crap up when they played Carolina. We saw Dak miss throws when they played Carolina - and Pickens was putting on a SHOW. We saw Josh Allen win a game with 163 yards passing against Carolina, but if BY does it he's crap and can't pass for 200 yards. Gents... come on.
    • None of us think we're contenders this season but no reason we're doomed to 5 or 6 wins either. Dan has to have another 2025- like draft class and at least 2 key free agent signings. We're not Seattle but they don't win without 5 starters from their last 2 draft classes and Darnold and Lawrence in free agency.  Alas,  we'll have to wait one more season for a QB upgrade.
