Will Steve Smith be traded this week?

Cleaned out his locker, house for sale, even his stadium box supposedly has been stripped of Smith photos and memorablila. Now there could be free agency and trades during the draft--theoretically. The tea leaves do not look good.

Why not trade him if he wants out. He isn't the kind of guy you want around if he isn't happy. Frankly, I am sick of his attitude and lack of leadership on and off the field. Tough for me to say because Smith has always been my favorite Panther. Most vets take pride in being a leader and helping mentor and teach new players. Without this trait, he really is not good for a young team.

do u take pride in mentoring new employees at ur job? Thats what I thought. Its a paycheck.

I don't get this statement. Nobody looks forward to training new coworkers, but if you don't take pride in it, odds are you're not teaching the newbies anything or helping with their development. Also, if my bosses expected me to train new hires and I didn't, pretty sure there would be no paycheck, and I'd be sh*tcanned. Moose took Smitty under, and now it's Smitty's turn. His attitude is a pure reflection of his egocentric nature that has been a major issue for the past several seasons. I say this as a huge Smith fan. He's probably been one of my 3 favorite all-time Panther players, but let's be real.

Can't they do a trade for a 'player to be named later'

or just get the Pats to draft at #33 hopefully the player we wont, trading to us once deal can be done. a gentlemans agreement in other words.

Armanti Edwards for Steve Smith, brilliant job Hurney!

If we trade Steve Smith fans aren't going to be happy with the compensation. Those thinking we could get a second (even a third maybe) are fooling themselves. Randy Moss was traded for a fourth rounder.....

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
