Best guy plays. At this moment my money is on Matt Moore. However watching QB's perform in training camp last year, it wouldn't take much to win the starting job if Moore and Clausen play the same way.

If the offensive line is sound and he knows the terminology and playbook, you might as well start him. We obviously don't like Clausen and I've heard a number of high draft picks (Palmer, The Mannings, etc) say that you don't learn that much from sitting. If he can call the plays and be protected, we might as well get the learning process out of the way as soon as possible.

Thats true any rookie any Quarterback would say the best expierence is game expierence. Some people learn the game better by playing the game. And its not so bad to sit on the bench anyway but its nothing like that game expierence.

Right. If we can protect him, the supporting cast is competent, and he knows the playbook, there is no reason to not play him. That is a lot of things to fall into place, but I don't agree that we should just sit him if those conditions are met as some have said. Like you said, the best experience is game experience.

The list goes on regarding former NFL coaches who work in the media currently and had NFL success, I always find it amusing when users on a forum say they don't value/respect a former NFL Coaches thougths when I know "those people who don't value" those opinions couldn't even keep up during a film session, let a lone lead an NFL team.

Name one offensive change that's being made...other than hoping Otah gets healthy. Heck...we don't even know what Chud has planned.

We don't "have to" start Cam right away, we should get a vet QB to start and let Cam redshirt.

Pretty much. Thinking like that is part of the reason why Edwards is behind a desk rather than walking a sideline.

Allowing anything other than on-field performance to determine who you start is a path to failure.

He will start there is no doubt. You cant take a player at number one and pay him a lot of money to sit on the bench. Why because he is your impact player and you not using him at all then you shouldnt have drafted him number one. You would have been better off getting somebody else who will start day one. I dont think he will start the first beginning of the season depending on trainning camp but by the Middle of the season he will start.
