no future picks! we aren't going to compete next season. there is no reason to go into desperation mode and trade the farm away for a single player.

would you not be willing to lose a pick to fill an actual need though? ( no Armanti Edwards type bullshit ). That Dline needs some pressure up the middle and all of a sudden the entire D looks different.

As a UNC fan, I'm telling you I think Austin is overrated. If he fell to the third then by all means take him. I would not give up anything in the future higher than a third to get him though

Nope. We'll still be able to get a guy in the 3rd round or free agency. If we trade more future picks, it instantly puts as at a disadvantage on draft day 2012. What happens if we really like a player in 2012(we will) and don't have that second round pick? Do we trade another future high-value pick to get it?

They have not all been humiliating trades, no one is complaning about jumping up to get Otah. Brown and Edwards suck, yeah. IMO there is nothing wrong with losing a 2nd rounder next year if they can fill a huge need that if it works out can make the entire D better, Line, LBs and secondary.

And they are going to like players every year, that is not a good reason not to trade. Obviously if they make a trade like this, they like who they traded up for.

In 2nd round, there will be atleast 3 more QB's, most of the teams have already drafted DLine, so else would be looking to draft Austin in 2nd given their other needs?

At the very least, Tennessee needs at least 1 DT. NO and Atl both traded their 2nd round picks, so that's two teams that coud use DTs out of contention. I've read a few things saying Austin is expected to go to the Titans now. If Austin or Paea were to drop to our 3rd round pick I'd be ecstatic.
