Addressing the CB position

With the new defense, bigger, sure tackling CBs who can play zone in cover 2, is the answer to our CB problem on our roster?

All of our safeties played CB in college. Munnerlyn is a nickel but not big enough to play on the outside consistently.

What if we move Jordan Pugh to cornerback? He showed he can play at S, but we don't have a spot for him.

In addition, Marshall might be a better fit in this system.

Draft a CB? I would go with Burton out of Utah or House from New Mex St., but with Pugh, you get a seasoned player ready to start if he can make the transition.

Hell no. Too old and way too expensive.

I'd like to see what Marshall can do In Rivera's D, but I think he's outta here.

I'd look to a mid level FA to fill that void.

However, we're not going to be playing a true Cover 2 like we did under Meeks from what I've gathered, there will be a lot more man and single high safety looks.

We have a spot for him. Martin is a S. Godfrey isn't. Godfrey is an athlete though....but it doesn't look to be enough.

are you serious CRA? Wow you are just as bad as the Cam haters not seeing him want to succeed with Godfrey. He improved leaps and bounds last year. With Meeks continuing to work with him, and a great Defensive minded coach like Rivera, I have no problem keeping a young, athletic Godfrey paired with Martin for the next 10 years

you seriously have issues man, you can not stand this guy.

It's like he was put in the " he sucks" zone and can't get out. No matter what he does or how much he improves lots of people on this board swear he is the worst safety in the NFL. He makes a good play "it was luck" he makes a bad play " I told you he sucks". He makes interception he was out of position, he makes a great open field tackle "well he is an athlete" I can't explain it.

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
