Round 4: Panthers Select Brandon Hogan

Rivera will put a boot in his ass if he gets out of hand. Not worried about that aspect of this pick at all. The ACL worried me somewhat, but I have a friend who is a Steeler fan who follows the draft real close and he was dying for Hogan to go to Pittsburgh. Says he has 1st round ability.

Hope he's right.

Riveras comments on him:

“I tried to explain to him there are no three strikes or anything like that, you’re here to do it the right way, the Panther way and if not there will be consequences. I was very open with the young man and he understands that.”

Haven't seen Rivera coach a single game and I already have a ton of respect for him just from how he makes it obvious doesn't put up with any bullshit. You can't always be everyone's best friend in a leadership role.

Strange, Maybe there is something to JR being less concerned about a players past with Rivera in there. Might be a good thing.

If thats the case, can we please bring back THE NATURE BOY?!!?!?! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The nature boy lives with me. thanks for your input.

    • 31st rushing D and 8 carries by Rico is coaching.  Rico is easily the best offensive weapon right now and it’s not really close.  *literally everyone knows Dalton is washed, horrible and shouldn’t even be a backup QB.   Drive 1? ZERO carries.  Coaching.  Drive 2 - Rico was playing great.   Did Canales lean into that or go for “balance”? Coaching. Drive 3 - ZERO carries.  Coaching  Drive 4 - 1 carry and opted for Jimmy Horn gadget rush (you can’t stick  with the Horn repetitive gadget runs each week and that’s not a better idea than getting Rico going)  Drive 5 - basically Dalton heavy as the half expired.  I don’t need to watch a game to know it’s coaching.  The gameplan wasn’t about setting Rico up to go off on a trash rush D.  It was bullshit harmony balance of the rush and the pass and making Hubbard feel good.
    • In the locker room after the Dallas game, multiple  players said FEED him when Canales mentioned Rico stats. That already made me think even the locker room wouldn't care if Rico got the touches rn. This is on Canales indeed and I agree n the Qb take.  We aren't winning  bc of Bryce  but he has been managing it. Had the Jets had Qb aptitude,  we could've probably  lost that game too. All they would've needed is 14 points. Regardless, we got a team  that's being built up and that position needs an overhaul.
    • I think he was trying to mimic the Lions with Montgomery and Gibbs. They are just more of the exception to the rule and Brooks was too much of a gamble to be a Gibbs type player. The Lions also didn’t sign Montgomery and draft Gibbs until their offense was nearly set. It was more of a luxury take the offense to the next level type of deal.
