Dhani Jones ranks Beason ninth best linebacker in yet another list

Sorry folks, this seems like the only new stuff out there pending Tuesday's meeting. Things are really slow. Anyway, Jones ranked his top 10 linebackers and Beason was ninth. Of course Jones ranked himself the seventh best so maybe it is not that great.

idiot

Beason is in top 5 easily and is probably #1 underrated, which constantly gets shoved in his face by idiot by remarks like these and fake pro bowl bullpoo. I hope this fuels him to become the next Ray Lewis.

Looks like he ranked Beason 10th and London Fletcher 9th.....

I like Jones' personality, but to say he is better than Beason is crazy talk. Homer opinion? Maybe, but I just dont see his skill surpassing JB.

Sorry bro but Fletcher is one of the best linebackers to play the game. He is highly underrrated due to the fact that he's played on some pretty rotten teams over the years. He hasn't missed a game in his entire NFL career. And i believe since he joined the NFL he leads the league in tackles (1,244) having more than Ray Lewis.

I feel like most people judge linebacker's on sack's like they do defensive end's, which is truly unfair due to the fact that not ever linebacker plays in a 3-4 defense and sees their stats inflated because they have holes the size of the Grand Canyon to run through to make the sack. I personally think tackles and passes defended are the stats to look at for a linebacker because it shows their ability to stop the run (most of their tackle's come from stopping the run) and passes defended (shows their ability to play the pass).

Here is where Beason ranks among linebackers in those categories since he has been in the NFL.

2007

Tackle's- 3rd

Passes Defended- 19th

2008

Tackle's- 3rd

Passes Defended- 4th

2009

Tackle's- 4th

Passes Defended- 4th

2010

Tackle's- 13th

Passes Defended- 8th

I don't see how this guy is not considered a top 5 linebacker in the NFL, it's just mind boggling.

Eh, he's the Jessie Tuggle of his generation. Take that how you will.

And for a linebacker, Dhani Jones is a decent photographer. That's about all I can say for that.

Beason is going to have a break out year this year and that's saying something, at least to the rest of the country.

No, I should have worded that differently, I meant Dhani Jones himself.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
