Why is it that people assume that bc weinke wasn't a great pro that he is a complete idiot incapable of teaching anything? He understands what a rookie qb will go thru and what they should prepare for...he understands playing QB and may found his niche as a coach. Are all quarterback coaches hall of fame QBs? I'm not sure if there is one at all...give weinke a break and use your brain for a few minutes...I'm more than fine with weinke helping him thru this, especially with his ties to the panthers.

That is because most of those idiots you are referring to have the mental capicity of a fart in the wind....and an understanding of football equivalent to a 10 yo girl.

Throwing across his body more likley an interception. Those DBs would be much faster. He moved the chains bust he did that on the ground but most of what he did in the air was also due to what he did on the ground. Take away his ground threat and now we have what the Panthers are going to hopefully try and do with him, scrambling then passing. I wouldn't want Cam having plays called for him to run like college for the risk of being injured.

from what they talked about after drafting him, it's pretty much a given that they are going to have some designed runs for him.

Just like Charles Johnson sacked the poo out of Josh Freeman last year..... oh wait.... nevermind he threw Johnson's ass on the ground and hit Winslow for a 40 yard gain. Sorry.

Hopefully in 2 years we can call Feeman "Cam Newton Light"

On that specific play, he would have gotten sacked imo. Not saying he will not be able to avoid defenders, but on that play, the defender was moving slower than Newton.

Newton will have to make the adjustment to the speed of the NFL, just like all rookies do. I hope and pray he will.

Im sure you will see quite a few QB sneaks with his size. Other than that we will just ask him to manage the game this year and not carry the team like at Auburn. We have Good running backs to handle that load. Still even with the LB speed on the field it would be foolish to play Cover 2 with him because he could easily lay out a CB in the NFL.

throwing in pads? reading a defense? reading linebackers and DB's and throwing to your 5th read is as important than simply knowing what a play is called and watching 5 uncovered receivers run routs.

Seriously? Throwing to his 5th read? How often do you think any QB does that?

lol

I was thinking the same thing, but figured it wasn't worth mentioning... as if the 9th read got lost in there somewhere..

The more Chizik talks about how he thinks Cam will progress in the NFL, the more excited I am to see him in a Panther uniform.

yeah, he was making the circuit today. i saw tweets from a few different places that was showing interviews. he's got a book to sell.

still, the cowherd one was probably the best one i heard today.
