Just tweeted by albert breer:

Filed to NFL Network: Outside of some ancillary details, the economics of a deal between the players and owners are done

Not sure what this means but breer said it's a big deal and that there are only a few more "hoops" to jump thru before this thing is done.

Also said that everyone must agree to it but some mau not like it.

Means a deal is done, all that's left is legal jargon and paperwork.

All that's left is the Lawyers have to finish up the Paperwork and then the two sides have to agree to the deal.

So this weekend, the Lawsuit will get dropped. The NFLPA will reform, the players accept the deal this weekend. Then next weeks owners meeting, the owners accept the deal.

Team exclusive signing period starts on the 24th, FA itself starts on the 28th and ends on either July 31st or August 1st.

Edit: appears that not all of the money issues have been dealt with, but I'd expect a deal to be done today then the above will start to happen.

According to an involved source, the remaining issues between the owners and players are being dealt with collectively. The process isn't linear, and the parties aren't simply checking items off a list, with each issue affecting others.

Primary among the unresolved problems are the Legacy Fund (retirees benefits), player safety, worker's compensation and injury guarantees, and also litigation entanglements that must be taken care of.

The parties must work on language to settle the Brady antitrust suit and any plaintiff damages, as well as address the looming decision by Judge David Doty in the television rights fee case. And no deal can be complete until the owners and players address the issue of whether now, and how, the NFL Players Association re-constitutes as a labor union.

But the major tenets of the deal are in place, and whether it's completed this weekend or next week, there's a prevailing sense for both parties that they finally are nearing an agreement.

    • The OP for one. Asserting that people blamed Bryce for the loss in the title of the thread. That was not the prevailing sentiment at the time this thread was created. Very much a minority thing, I don’t remember but maybe one person if that, putting it on Bryce as the main reason. Troll thread. Did a good job too. Look at the pages.  Someone counting up the draft picks as 10 on offense and 10 on defense or whatever the number was, today or yesterday - of which the offensive ones were heavily 1s and 2s and the defensive picks were heavily day 3 and declaring that proof that the offense wasn’t favored like people claim. The obvious neglect we watched for two years. I spent time refuting that bullshit because someone needed to.  People saying we are bad horrible people and hate poor lil Bryce for no reason, as if it is a personal thing. Constantly.   Along the same lines is people saying we non Bryce fans would rather lose than have him play well and the team wins. That we are mad when the team wins   Point illustrated.
    • Pretty sure he hasn’t
    • Might not have been in this specific thread... As far as the other, I'm not necessarily reading every post that isn't responding to me so I don't think I saw that. Mind you, we've certainly seen the "not a real fan" stuff on here before.
