Edwards to Carolina?

I don't hate the kid.

I just don't get how people are crowning this kid as a legit player for us already. He is a shaky WR who needs a LOT of work. Odds are against him IMO....but I will pull for him. I just don't get people claiming he is gonna be the caliber of guy Steve Smith is.....and then not understand when people call that a wild claim.

I mean if I claim Tony Pike is gonna be the bees knees....I can't argue when people claim that is a wild claim on my part.

If you claimed anyone to be the bee's knees, I would question your cliche use! Haha. But I get what you're saying, and i'm in no way saying Pilares will be a boss, but I am saying watch out for this kid. He's got talent, even in the POTAs, players were taking notice of this kid.

how many times has Braylon had over 1000 yards in a season?

how many DUIs has Sidney Rice had?

how many teams has Braylon given up on?

how many times has Braylon had to catch passes from Tavaris Jackson and Joe Webb?

Uhh Braylon has been over 800 yards 4 times in his career. Edwards has never posted as low numbers as Rice has. Rice has only gotten over 400 1 time. How many times has Rice been injured? And since when has Edwards given up on a team? Seriously who the hell wants to stay in Cleveland their entire career? It's rich you bring up TJ and Webb. Wanna know Edwards QBs while in Cleveland? They include Trent Dilfer, Charlie Frye, Derek Anderson, Brady Quinn, and Ken Dorsey. So please don't try to feed me that bs.

Anyone who thinks we're fine going into the season with our current receiving core and Newton at QB is smoking some serious sh*t

...but Gettis and LaFell showed they could be good at times last year! We're set folks...Super Bowl!!!

I get why some people are straying away from Edwards, but any name that comes up during this process is going to get flack. There is talent in the crop of wideouts available and to not capitalize on that with a 2-14 club with the worst offense in the league is just stupid.

I would agree if we werent invested. The fact is though that we committed to bring in 3 rookies last year and we are obligated to see them through. Thats 4 spots which leaves one maybe two for special teams. We already have Wallace Wright and Charlie Martin for that.

Couldn't agree more. You can never have too much talent at WR when you have a rookie QB in a lockout! We have promising youngins but promises can break (see Colbert, Carter, Jarret). Bring in a FA or two and let the best players start. If our youngsters are so good, they'll earn their playing time.

I never annointed Pilares the next anything, reading and understanding should tell you that. I said he's closer to the Steve Smith mold than Armanti, then posted his scouting info to support my belief.

As far as Chud he would not have to change HIS philosophy to incorporate some of what SD does. That claim is ignorant, if thats the case he'd have to do the same for Cam since he's not the QB type Chis has worked with previously. Every good coach tailors their scheme to their talent, not to do so would be a wate of the talent you have.

If you're gonna continue to respend atleast attempt to know what you're talking about instead of this weak saice you been spilling.

Neither Pilares nor AE were drafted to replace Smitty...neither were drafted under the assumption they would develop into WRs that could dominate all 3 wr spots. pending we have a remotely healthy roster Pilares and AE both won't make the active roster together....they were both drafted for special teams potential and working the slot when called upon. Neither were drafted with Smittys replacement in mind

As far as Chud offense goes I suggest you educate yourself on the differences between Chuds offense and SD's offense. They aren't that similar from what has been shown. Too many are wishfully assuming Chud is gonna spread the field 4 wide and have us looking like SD of last year.

Now I agree Chud will play to Cams strengths but he will be tweaking his playbook and we saw that in Clev....what Chud has shown he believes in is not what SD was doing

Don't be so sure we are definitely rebuilding right now.....this WR roster pending Smith stays will be better than last years simply bc we want have rookies all over the place

Yep.

I dont understand how a 5th rounder is eventually anything?

You guys that think any of our rookies are going to be successful, do you have any idea what the odds are on that? . . . Do you know what the odds are that he will become a starter in this league? It will frighten the living chit out of you when you do the numbers.

Why cant it just be enough for some of you to say "eh, he might become pretty good" and leave it that. Right now he aint chit. In fact, he's less than chit. He doesnt even have a contract. Im optimistic about Pilares' assets, but he's just a kid right now.

Be patient and hope that our coaches are what we think they are.
