oh...absolutely.

didn't mean to imply that. was just a response to the offense being the bigger problem than defense so i was just talking about needs that existed there.

i agree with them concentrating on defense. after 34 is re-signed (if he is) then CB needs to be the next big thing.

i understand, though, that nothing will happen there until aso signs with someone. everyone is waiting to see what he sets the market at before any team start making deals with CBs.

i'd like us to sign joseph, carr, or josh wilson (in that order) and then sign a vet UT before we start working on the Oline and WR..

since there has been mention around the forums that Eric Weddle could be one of our targets in FA, Jason Canfora says about 3 teams are in the mix and SD is attempting to resign him.

About 7 teams in the mix for Weddle last I heard, the price is getting driven up in a sort of bidding war for his services. He's going to have a damn nice payday here soon.

      I'm more impressed with the UDFA that the guys they have drafted in the first the last 2 years. A whole lot of prove it is still needed before any improvement should be talked about seriously.

      While I don't believe its a must win, (we have been better on the road this post season) it is definitely A NEED TO WIN the longer this series goes the more pronounced the Canes advantage on rest and health will be! If we hold serve at home in games 1 and 2 guaranteeing a 6 game minimum series for them if we lose the road games..... by the game 4 and 5 I expect them to be beat they have played A LOT OF HOCKEY the last three years, they have MINIMAL rest off a more physical than one might have expected series vs the leafs.... you know Tampa took their pound of flesh in round 1 from them. Combine all that with the fact that even though this year's canes squad isn't as talented as last years this IS a better squad than the one they swept last time that had McKenzie Mckeathern on line 1 Turbo with a broken hand a banged uo and eventually concussed Slavin (and even though it was a sweep 6 OTS and 4 1 goal losses is hardly dominant)  This year Bob hasn't been superman (hes probably gonna still have a great save percentage agiast us just a side effect of our style) Thatchuk is maybe 50% (3 game winners agiast us) their defense no longer has Gudas and several other downgrades.  While the Canes have a healthy and performing Svechnikov along with other big guys to counteract florida like Carrier, Jankowski, Robinson.   I by know means think it will happen but I either see this as a low scoring dog fight or a series were the canes surprise and end up dominating.
