No more Matt Moore

Recommended Posts

I think his contract was up so he was gone. Clausen only gets to stay because he is locked in here for cheap.

Roles reversed we would have kept Moore

Well, we can't be surprised by this especially when we have a bunch of big names to re-sign around here. I'd take D. Will and Anderson over a Matt Moore backup contract anyday.

Beat writer Kevin Acee advises to "keep an eye on" free agent QB Matt Moore if Billy Volek decides to sign elsewhere.

Acee expects the Chargers to offer Volek a deal similar to the three-year, $9 million contract he signed back in 2007. That ought to do the trick, though Moore is a fine fallback plan as a No. 2 QB. The Gaston Gazette confirmed Tuesday that Moore will not be back with the Panthers.

Orton is holding up everything for Moore, in my opinion.

Miami wants Orton, Denver wants to get rid of Orton. If Miami can't get Orton, they will get Moore. If Miami can get Orton, look for Moore to Denver.

If neither of those work out, look for Moore to SD as was reported last night to backup Rivers and live in sunny San Diego. If that happened I'd have to disown Moore as a player I follow since I cannot stand the Chargers.

It would be good for Matt Moore to go to San Diego. He would probably learn a lot under Norv Turner. Norv Turner knows a lot about passing games and Qbacks. Unfortunately, he is not good at anything else. He is just the opposite of Fox, who is good at coaching all aspects of football except passing. :)

I, for one, would have much rather seen him starting the season than Clausen. IF they decide to let a "veteran" give Newton time to learn, I wish Moore could have been the guy. He won't take us to the playoffs, but he won't lose a game by himself like Clausen can.

why, he was just as bad as Clausen last year and has 4 years under him. I think these MM lovers are just gay for him. Yea he had one good run when our running game was unstoppable.. sounds like another qb that played here for a while

This is the scenario that we should all cheer for.

Why? I don't talk about all the other players that I like on this board that aren't on the Panthers, why do you think it'll be different with Moore?

Moore isn't even close to one of my favorite players but he just happened to be on the Panthers and played a position I like and was the best on our team so he got talked about a lot.

When he's gone, he's gone.

IMO, he wasn't anywhere near as bad as Clausen. Matt had a nice release and was pretty accurate when he had time to set up in the pocket. Clausen's windup was slower than mine, and his accuracy over the middle was not good. Clausen did have fewer interceptions, but thats because he threw it away or took the sack. Sometimes those are the right play, but not when you do it constantly and never take a shot.

Don't get me wrong, with proper coaching Clausen might improve. But Moore is significantly better than him right now.

    • Part of this is us getting old I feel like, no offense.  No artist has the power to destroy a genre in my opinion, and if they do, I would kinda like to see it, haha. If groups like Public Announcement could have a hit like Body Bumpin' back in the day, and nothing really happen, I think we will be just fine. People like what they like.  It doesn't really cause any damage to any other lane.  It's all evolution and paving the way.  Some of it we like, some of it we don't. It's not like if somehow Glorilla was all over the radio or playing in the grocery store, it would stop you from listening to Immortal Technique.  The table is vast, everyone can eat.
    • At this point it isn't even debatable. The first two games of the season last year loom large. Not just Bryce that extends across the roster to all the starters. Opening the season again with back to back road games. The starters need a significant amount of preseason reps.
    • Music and sex have been intertwined for decades I'm not speaking against that in itself. But that's a different subject from a discussion of quality. It's not just a problem limited to female artists. There are quite a few newer artists I like across hip hop and under other subgenres. But I avoid the copycat rappers who just spam auto tune like the plague. Much of this now is an effect of social media and the lines being blurred between glorified influencers who basically want to show you anything and everything and actual artists. I don't make it my mission to talk down on anyone I take the same approach as you and just don't listen. But this thread was directly Panthers related therefore I had an opinion. We're just going to have to agree to disagree regarding some mainstream rappers destroying the genre. I can tell you right now as far as real lyricists and top notch production there isn't much legitimate competition out there. It's actually comical. And going even beyond that where lyricism isn't necessarily a prerequisite there are still vastly superior artists now and from the past. Thankfully I've discovered a number of stellar rappers and producers (some do both simultaneously which is even more impressive) who are outside the mainstream over the years and it is factually night and day. I know I'm not alone in making this distinction. But at the end of the day. To each their own.
