Hope not. BUt not all rookie QBs started out on a 2-14 team, had a team with a new coach, new philosophy, no OTAs, etc. I am hoping for the playoffs, and I see it as possible, but not expecting it.

With question marks at DE, DT, CB, QB, WR, and RG, what do you mean when you say, "When you have a roster like ours?" Not being smart, just curious.

People forget that. How many rookies that recently had early success with their team in their first year had a 2-14 team?

Personally, I believed the relaxed attitude will help players concentrate on learning the new system. You cant really go gung ho on something you know nothing about. Give it another week or so. Wait for players to get conditioned and acclimated better. Coaches will push them harder once they have given them enough time to learn and know what they are suppose to do. Pushing hard this early in camp will only result in injury etc.

Take a look at who was QB for AZ last season when we played them. Who is their QB now? We're currently hurting at the CB position, and AZ has some pretty good WRs.

Their QB now is a multi year back-up who has a losing record and has thrown more interceptions than TD's.

He is a major unknown.....probably the next Matt Moore.

I'd say anywhere from 5-11 to 7-9 is a reasonable expectation for this team. We just have two glaring positions of need at QB and CB and the performance there will probably determine how we do.

If you guys really beleive you will win more than 5 games this year, please pass me what your smokin' :frown2:

I think 5 wins is optimistic..7 wins and up will not happen this year. The money ran out belore we could pick up the fAs we needed. We could have picked up a decent qb which would given us a better chance on offense but I guess since we picked a qb with the first pick we feel we we cant add real competetion at the postion or even attract real competion.K Anderson is neither a mentor or a qb that cares about winning.Clause is Clausin.

The priority this year was signing our own guys to contracts and drafting the face of the franchise. Lets see how it plays out.

I agree we are one injury from a disaster at all those positions and really do not have a NFL ready qb,dt or cb in my opinion.I think the fans will have to be patient but I fear expectations are a bit optimistic.

5-11 is completely realistic given all the changes in staff, philosophies, and a young and fairly inexperienced set of QBs. I am surprised to hear there doesn't seem to a high sense of urgency but there is a lot to learn and the lockout certainly did not deliver any gifts to our formerly 2-14 team. If we manage to have a 7-9 or 8-8 team at the end of this season, i will be happy as long as I see progress and growth. We have the core to be there but our QB play will obviously be the X factor.

    • Saw this show up in my new feed. Nice to see a couple of our rookies making it into the top 5 so far, even if it is a pff measure... From https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-15-rookies-week-9-2025 ... 4. TE Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers (78.7) Evans struggled in the Panthers’ tight win over the Packers, finishing with a 41.8 PFF overall grade — third worst among tight ends this week. He was not targeted in the game and played only one snap in pass protection. He did log 15 run-blocking snaps, and although he earned a 68.9 PFF run-blocking grade in zone looks (seven snaps), his 39.0 mark in gap schemes (second worst for the week) dragged him down to a 46.6 PFF run-blocking grade overall — sixth worst for the week. Despite seeing zero targets over his past two games, Evans still leads the Carolina tight end group with a 74.3 PFF receiving grade. He has caught all nine of his targets for 90 yards, six first downs and two touchdowns. Evans also leads the Panthers’ tight end group in PFF run-blocking grade (72.2). He has recorded a 20.5% positive play rate across 175 snaps.  5. WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers (78.6) McMillan had a better day against the Packers, recording four catches for 46 yards. Most of that production came in the first quarter via two 16-yard catches — one of which he snatched from Carrington Valentine’s hands, who was in perfect position to break up the pass. McMillan accounted for three first downs on the day, although Green Bay was able to limit his impact after the catch, holding him to 0.8 yards after the catch per reception. McMillan now has 41 catches for 558 yards — a top-15 mark. He is also tied for second with 19 explosive gains of 15-plus yards. Three of McMillan’s catches against the Packers came between the numbers, bringing him to 22 for 318 yards and 19 first downs (tied for second most) this season. He owns a 26.1% threat rate and a 76.6 PFF receiving grade between the numbers. He also ranks in the top 10 in explosive gains (10) and yards after the catch per reception (5.5) within that area of the field.
    • At least we don't need to hear overreacting about towels ...
    • Actually there is, try being a Charlotte Hornets fan. I mean the team fuging moved at its peak and hasn't recovered since and that was 25 years ago
