Didn't see anything about this already posted. Insider article, Jimmy's the 2nd possibility mentioned:

2. Jimmy Clausen, Carolina Panthers

Clausen struggled mightily as a rookie behind a depleted O-line and with a wide receiving corps that scared absolutely no one. This year, a healthy line and healthy running backs, and the key addition of some viable tight-end targets (see: young QBs best friend) give him a chance to build his profile. The Panthers will hope he does, both so they can win while Cam Newton marinates and so Clausen is more of an asset. Clausen is still 23. If all rookies had their careers sent to the morgue after starts like his, there'd be a QB shortage.

Jimmy has a golden opportunity to redeem himself and begin to resurrect his career. It starts Saturday night.

He either shows good improvement early this year or he is looking at a long stretch as a 2nd or 3rd QB.

Well, if you remember, he was pretty decent in 'preseason' last year.

I guess to me, there is practice speed and conditions and preseaon game speed and conditions, then the whole other world of live games and playoffs.

We'll see what happens then; but, yes, it would be in the Panthers best interests if he succeeds.

If we does knows, in some surrreal world, maybe it's Cam that becomes expendable...very doubtful though.

Let’s focus, we as fans would love for Jimmy to do well Saturday. That way we can trade him for draft picks, or we can use him as a certified back up. Just keep one thing in mind, Jimmy does not have the athleticism that Cam has when invading the rush. Not knocking Jimmy so please don't take this the wrong way. Jimmy is great at Checking down, but how many plays you are going to check down before the Defense catch on? You have to stretch the field to be successful in the NFL. So good luck Jimmy and Cam, and remember you have less than 3 seconds to get the ball out.

WTF is invading the rush...

Where have you been? This is Jimmy second year and Cam is threatening his starting job, wow. Cam only played one year of division 1, but he looks like he has been playing in the NFL for 1 year, (My opinion). Let’s talk about that….

Face Fuging Palm...

    • Outside of cerrato, I do like our draft overall. Hard to get can't miss draft picks when you pick late in the draft
    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
