If this has been asked already then my bad, but has the team selected captains yet, or is that not typically done until the 53 is set?

First there are 2 Defensive and Offensive captains. Probably Smith and Gross on the offensive side. Baker on Speacial Teams. Jon Beason and Davis/Gamble/Johnson on defense.

Isn't the QB always a captain? If he isn't a captain then he's not a leader and you can't have that in the NFL if you are a QB...

Should be Beason and Davis on the defensive side no question. Gross should have his removed and placed on Kalil and I like DeAngelo as the second captain on offense, but it will most likely go back to Smith. As far as special teams, I think Baker gets it this year.

Usually Rookie QB's are never captains, Freeman wasn't a captain till his second year.
