Making People Eat Crow

Well I was hoping that TRD would just admit that he was wrong about Cam and move on. I could have respected that.

THe only thing moving is the target as he shifts it around constantly. That way he doesn't have to admit anything. He just ignores he was wrong and goes down another bunny trail until he is right about something or others simply give up.

It was an amazing performance by Chad Henne. So what is your point? He played well enough for the Fins to win. He scored 3 TDs for them and looked great against a very good defense.

He also had 12 more attempts than Cam Newton resulting in 6 less passing yards.

He was also outshone by Tom Brady who had an even better night.

Not sure what your point is?

He also had 40 more rushing yards.

Fact: Chad Henne is a better NFL rusher than Cam Newton.

But that's besides the point. The point was that anyone can have a great statistical game and not dominate the game. What Henne did resembled nothing close to dominance. It was a FF player's wet dream, but not dominance.

If that's true then no other QB has ever dominated a game.

Vick has dominated games. Brady has dominated games. Manning. Etc.

This game was not dominated by Cam Newton.

Chad Henne had an amazing game. He dominated the offensive side of the ball and played plenty well enough to win the game last night.

 WTF are you talking about?!?! TRD please tell me you aren't this lost in your trolling that you think both of these guys throwing for 400+ yards and scoring 3 TDs each isn't a dominating performance.

This is honestly the weakest argument to date. 400+ yards and scoring 3 TDs is a dominating performance in the NFL by any QB.

The only reason Henne's game doesn't look as impressive is because of Brady's performance in the same game. Otherwise Henne would have been part of the story in that game.

Brady only accounted for 4 TDs. Was his performance not dominate? Is 3 tds to 4 tds your cutoff for dominance??

Weak man. You are a better troll than this. Bring your A game or go home ;)

What is there to complain about in these numbers??

Newton wasn’t just explosive against the Cardinals, he was efficient, too. Nearly half his dropbacks resulted in productive yardage, while many quarterbacks were successful less than 40 percent of the time. Newton threw for 17 first downs or touchdowns – only four quarterbacks had more (and two of them played Thursday night). Newton was productive on first (11-of-18 for 194 yards), second (9-of-11, 122 yards), and third (4-of-8, 106 yards) downs.

a lot of it comes down to how you define a dominating performance. Merely putting up a ton of yards is not enough to me. I don't even think the number of touchdowns the player themselves scores matters, it is in many ways something else all together.

It's about exerting your will over the game. Brady last night dominated. Henne had a great game, but he didn't put a stamp on the game. He could have, but he did fall just short late in the game.

When we look at Cam, he certainly was a powerful force in the passing game and he did everything you could reasonably ask a player to do, but he came up just short. Was he dominant? I can see both sides of that argument, because ultimately he did not win the game, and he did come up short on that last drive. That's not to say the loss was his fault; it wasn't at all.

Ultimately I don't know how much it matters whether Cam was dominant or "merely" great. He did everything you could ask a rookie to do, and way more. I was happy with how he played and I'm looking forward to next week to see how he responds to the challenge!
