DeAngelo Hall: Still Stupid

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

Actually D Hall has turned into a solid tackler since signing with the Redskins. He's matured over the past couple seasons and is one of the better cornerbacks in football and a great team guy now. But everybody and their mom knows that Romo's ribs are fair game. Thats football.

Someone hasn't been paying attention. Outside of one game he's been getting toasted by RBs breaking free and WRs.

(Unless i totally missed the sarcasm)

Telling everyone ahead of time that he plans to target Tony Romo's injured ribs... :nonod:

Worth noting this comes from a guy who was juked/stiffarmed by Jake Delhomme. He's not exactly a Steve Atwater level hitter.

Do you hear his comments or just read them? I have no problem with what he said after actually listening to it. Blown out of propotion like most non stories.

Going after a player with a weakness? Yeah, that's part of the game.

Blabbing about it ahead of time is tantamount to saying, "hey ref, go ahead and have your flag throwing hand ready", especially when it's directed at a high profile player (say, the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, for example).

While he's at it, he may as well have a blank check written out to Roger Goodell ready for mailing.

You honestly think it's not? You think a CB with a known issue wouldn't be targeted over and over? It's one thing trying to intentionally injured someone but injured players get targeted as a weakness all the time.

I said it was, and I believe it is.

What's stupid is to telegraph it ahead of time (for reasons listed above).

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
