If we don't fix our interior d-line...

Nope... Don't confuse something I said for things that you do.

Furthermore, it's way more obvious today after allowing a fuggin 200+ yard runner.

Not breaking any news... They have to fix this. Never been a more serious issue than now.

its been a serious issue for a few years now. but the 900th post about it does make it just that more serious.

I hope Hurney takes Rivera's words seriously about some people losing their jobs. We need a vet DT in the middle asap. IDC if McClain or Fua have to lose their starting jobs, we need one in there now.

You act as if there are good healthy veteran DT's just hanging out and waiting for the Panthers to call. Sadly, that's not the case. Like it or not, we probably have what we have for 2011.

The good news is that Fua and McClain are young and will learn and grow. Just don't expect miracles this season.

there is not really anything the coaches can do to fix it. we don't have the talent there to stop the run. d-line was always going to be poo against the run and the injuries to the lb corps pretty much ended in prayer

the run defense really wasn't that bad after the first quarter.

not really much consolation

We have two weeks before the deadline...might as well make a splash

Players get traded in MLB and the NBA before the deadline...not so much in the NFL. Last year Moss getting traded was a fluke. it just doesn't happen in the NFL. Madden is another story...

Our interior d-line is a joke, I'm sure this is what Rivera meant when he said others were not developing at the same rate as Cam... unfortunately, we've waited too long to do anything about it and now it's too late. We should have brought in someone besides Ron Edwards to hedge our bet on the rookies, it's a mistake we're going to pay for all season.

This is where I really question Hurney... what is the wisdom behind heading into the season with two starting rookie DT's?

So if any of these things had come out different, they W would have been ours...

-Shockey's TD

-Pick 6

-Hester's return

-2 FGs

None of those have anything to do with Forte. The run D did not lose this game... Im not sayin they dont need to do work or improve, Im just stating it wasnt the 206yds why we lost...

    • I'd rather get a vet to fill XL's spot for a chain mover and give Jimmy Horn more reps since he's basically our Ted Ginn speed guy. T-Mac and Coker are locked in as the top 2. They honestly fuged up giving XL the start over Moore in the playoff game
    • I have been looking for a dropped pass list and all that comes up is QBs. And team stats. When I do receivers I get the passing stats for a handful that threw passes this year.    I wanted to be accurate but anyhow I was looking because thought I remembered reading where T Mac had more drops than XL this year.  One of you many smarter than me people here,I would appreciate it if you know how to pull that up, please do. Thank you.    And yeah I know that isn’t all there is to it I just thought it was interesting.  Of course what the hell is a drop lol.
    • I agree with this and I think it's worth mentioning too that Bryce is not consistent on his placement and especially velocity and that in large part is driven by his footwork. We all know XL doesn't have the best hands and I don't know that he can overcome that. Cam always had the heater that just hit your hands and sank into your grip, where Bryce has some that are harder thrown, some soft. Bryce stepping into a pass looks so much different than that hop throw thing he does. I think XL really needs to hit the jugs machine and start learning how to catch all these different touch passes. TMac and Coker don't have these issues. If XL doesn't get some work in he's going to be out of the league in the next couple of years.
