Panthers College Internship?

CarolinaAllDay

Recommended Posts

So I currently attend University of Albany in NY, Im studying Economics/Business Management and im a Sophomore this year ( should be a junior but took off a year to work for the family business, and quickly realized id rather go to college and not have to work in hot ass attics putting in Central AC ). I was speaking with my academic advisor the other day and he suggested i try to get an internship for this summer coming up. I told him i thought it was a good idea and i would think up one i would want to do...

So ive come to the conclusion, if it all possible i would want to try and get a internship with the panthers over the summer. Has anyone done this before? Do you know if they even do internships? I am really interested in learning the business side of football, being that i am a huge fan of the game myself and am studying business administration as well.

tl;dr-Studying business, need internship, want one with panthers, what do?

Seriously, ANY help would be appreciated.

T.I.A :cam:

I don't want to burst they bubble, but the panthers are very difficult to break into. If you want to work in a sporting industry, set up an account..its free, on teamworkonline.com

You can create a profile with a resume (kinda like linkedin.com) and apply for jobs in your area of interest..via zip code. The bobcats and Charlotte Motor Speedway both post jobs and internships on this site. I interned in one of the departments for the speedway this summer and had a few interviews based upon my application through this website.

The bobcats offer tons of internships, but they are very competitive as well.

Hope this helps, don't get discouraged...if you have to intern for minor league teams or non-profits and work your way up..do it. Its well worth it.

Good luck.

http://www.panthers.com/about-us/employment.html

interships are next to impossible to get. i tried to get into the legal department when i was in law school and i knew a fair amount of people with the organization. didn't get a bite. good luck to ya' though.

Damn I'm aspiring to go to law school and would love an internship in the legal department of any major sports franchise, was it really that hard?

    • We have without question one of the worst QB rooms in the league and your key concern is people having the audacity to be talking about it lol.
    • I saw this list crossing the screen waiting for any Panther.  Chubba, JC Horn and Hunt.  It was a crime to see so many that were not as good as these three.  ESPN is garbage anyhow.
    • Bingo!  We are on the same page.  Our scouting department was average under Hurney, but at least we hit hit it out of the park with our first rounders.  Our scouting department under Tepper's reign with his revolving doors of HCs and GMs has sucked because the scouts largely stay in place.  One or two may change every few years, but the core philosophy stays in place and I believe that to be heavily RAS influenced.    Looking the part of a football player (physical/athletic measurables) vastly outweighs putting on the tape and deep diving into his stats with our scouting department. Until we change that mindset, this team is doomed. Again, how many of us Huddlers (none of us are professional scouts) wanted McConkey over Legette? Yet, we went with XL.  Why?  RAS score, pure and simple.  If you put on the tape and look at the numbers without taking RAS into account, McConkey was the clear choice.
